Vacation Rental Description
Our vacation rental is part of a historic farmhouse, the "Burggut Tröstau", belonging once to a castle, situated at the border of a village inmidst the lovely nature of the Bavarian Nature Reserve "Fichtelgebirge." The village of Tröstau is nearby the well-known festival-town Wunsiedel and 40 km from the world-famous Richard-Wagner-town Bayreuth.
Come and enjoy this spacious apartment with its modern comfort in a historical ambience.
We offer a recently renovated, extended and comfortable vacation rental of 135 sqm with a high-grade equipment. The apartment has its own entrance, a private garden with old trees where you can find sun and shadow, a sunny lawn with deck-chairs and a large playground for children.
There is a big living-room with two comfortable sofas, which you can change in sofa-beds (1,40 x 2,00 m), a dining room suitable for 10 people, 3 bedrooms (2 with king-size-beds, 1 with a single bed and a sofa-bed (also 1,40 x 2,00 m), a gorgeously furnished living kitchen, a large bathroom (with bathtub, shower, double wash basin, WC, washing machine) and a separate WC.
We can receive 8-10 people (8 adults, 2 children). Our non-smoking apartment is therefore ideal for two families or small groups who like to spend their holidays together. If you are only two or three people to come, you will appreciate the luxury to have a lot of space.

The Nature Reserve Fichtelgebirge in the north-east of Bavaria belongs to the German low mountain ranges. Its landscape is characterized by wood and water - lakes, springs, small rivers - and above all by its rocks of granite.
The central position of our village Tröstau in this vacation region makes the apartment to an ideal base for all sport facilities and for sight-seeing.
If you love nature, you will enjoy the silence going for a walk through the forests or round the lakes. Have a walk through the highlight of our region: the largest European Labyrinth of Rocks. You will be there in 5 minutes drive from the apartment.
If you prefer practising sports, you have a lot of possibilities: golf (wonderful course with 18 holes in Tröstau), riding on horseback, tennis, swimming and other water-sports, biking, nordic-walking or in winter skiing and ice-skating.

Within a radius of 30-60 minutes drive, you will reach
- the historical centres of little towns: Bad Berneck, Goldkronach, Marktredwitz
- castles and palaces: Hohenberg, Bayreuth, Kulmbach, Kronach, Coburg
- monasteries, basilicas and churches: Waldsassen and Vierzehnheiligen, which belong to the most prodigious
baroque basilicas of Bavaria, and others: Banz, Kappl
- in the Czech Republic the pretty town of Eger/Cheb (Wallenstein was killed there) or the famous health resorts of
Marienbad (often frequented by Goethe) and Karlsbad
Within 1-2 hours drive, you can visit
- the very famous Bavarian cities Nuremberg and Munich
- the World Heritage Sites Bamberg, Würzburg, Regensburg, Dresden
Even an excursion to Prague is possible to do in only one day.
In summer, there are festivals of theatre and music.

Minimum stay: 3 days 36 €/day for 2 people, each additional 7 €, children younger than 6 years 4 €. Central heating: 4 €/day Final cleaning: 35 €. We don't have a low or a high season price, there is only a supplement for the period of New Year. Bed linen and towels are included in the rental. Payment by bank transfer: 50% deposit to confirm your reservation, final payment on arrival. In case of cancellation: the amount of the refund will depend on whether we can relet the apartment during the period of cancellation.
