Vacation Rental Description

La Charretterie is an old wagon shed, the top floor of which has been beautifully renovated to make a two bedroom apartment, south facing and overlooking fields. It has a large open-plan sitting/dining room, with a compact kitchen attached. Well insulated with electric central heating, it is cosy in winter and light and airy in summer. It has its own private garden and car parking area, independently of the main farmhouse next door. Barbecue, tabletennis, not overlooked. It is ten minutes' drive from the pretty seaside resort of Veules-les-Roses (one of France's "Hundred Prettiest Villages"). Tennis, sailing, windsurfing, seafishing, horseriding, cliff walks are all available nearby. The village of Houdetot is charming: very rural, friendly and very quiet. Plenty to visit locally, from Dieppe (with excellent shops), Varengeville and the Parc des Moutiers, Fécamp and the Bénédictine Manufactory, Etretat and the famous cliffs, Rouen (45 minutes) which has the famous old quarter of Joan of Arc, pedestrianised with great shops, museums etc.
Good supermarkets (Leclerc at St Valéry - 15 minutes - and Champion at Luneray - 15 minutes) plus beautiful local markets (eg Luneray on Sunday mornings. Local bread and grocery store 2kms away at Angien. Excellent restaurants for all prices all along the coast. Veules-les-Roses has good places to eat, including bars overlooking the sea.

Heating costs of €35 are charged in addition from beginning of September-end of April.
