Winter
Vallandry is in the heart of the Paradiski-area: Les Arcs on one side and La Plagne on the other. The two areas are linked by the Vanoise Ecxpress and make up an area of some 450 km of prepared pistes.Vallandry itself is known as a very family- and child-orientated area with lots of treelined slopes.
There is a Nordic site only a few kilometres from the village with 43 km of cross country trails.
The resort centre has all the facilities: ski-hire, crèche, ski school, lift pass office, shops, cinema, bars and restuarants.
Location
Vallandry is at an altitude of 1600 m and easy to reach (12 km) from Landry, which is halfway Aime and Bourg St Maurice.
From Landry to Bourg St Maurice is 7 km.
Vallandry has a number of shops, restaurants and a supermarket for daily needs. The mega supermarkets are in Bourg St Maurice.
Please note that the shops/ restaurants in Vallandry might not be open in the month of May and from September to mid-December.
Summer
Vallandry is situated at the gateway to the national park ”Parc de la Vanoise”, one of the first French nature reserves.
It’s an attractive place to stay in summer for all sorts of activties: walking, hiking, climbing, rafting, canyoning, parapenting, mountainbiking, fishing or swimming. Or just relax in the sun whilst enjoying the stunning views.
You can also go summer skiing at the Tignes glacier. Or why not visit the Tignes or the Les Arcs greens (18 holes).
Vallandry has a tenniscourt and there a great swimmingpool at Les Arcs 1800 and a small one at the Restaurant Le Dahu next to Chalet PLUS 11.
From the balcony there are breathtaking views overlooking almost the entire Haute Tarentaise valley, the Beaufortain- and Mont Blanc-mountains.
From Vallandry you can do fantastic tours to for instance various mountain lakes or to Italy through the mountains. Close by you can go to La Rosiere at 1850m and take a chairlift for a walk high up in the mountains opposite the Mont Blanc snowpeaks.
Chalet PLUS 11
This stand alone chalet is built in traditional Savoyard style. It sleeps 4 to 6 persons and is only 100-150m from the main resort lift giving you direct access to the larger ski area of Les Arcs. It is also only 100-150m from the resort centre and has an easy access and sufficient parking-space.
The Chalet has 2 floors. The first floor has the chalet entrance, going through into an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a large comfortable sofa which converts into a double bed, 2 easy chairs, open fire, satellite tv and dvd-player, stereo with cd-player. The dining area has a large table, comfortably seating 6. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, cooker, oven, microwave, refrigerator.
This floor has a toilet in the entrance area.
The groundfloor has 2 bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom with shower and washbasin.
A second bathroom has a bath, washbasin and toilet. Both bedrooms are twins but the single beds (80x200) are designed to be able to be pushed together to make doubles.
All rooms have under-floor heating.
Travel
Vallandry is approx. 2.5 hours drive from either Lyon/Geneva airports, 1.5 hours from Grenoble/Chambery airports.
The resort is well serviced from the UK by the Eurostar and Snowtrain, which stop at either Landry (15 mins) or Bourg St Maurice (25 mins) train stations.
