Vacation Rental Description
Chalet Zouche is superbly situated at the foot of 1 of the main ski runs in le Grand Bornand/Chinaillon. It has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a well eqipped laundry/drying room and large ski room. the whole of the middle floor is a large sitting/dining/kitchen with a wood burning stove, a dining table seating upto 16, flat screen TV/DVD and wifi broadband connection. the beds are made up and towels are provided, as are various necessities like dishwasher product, toilet paper, kitchen paper and rubbish sacks. There are games and puzzles in the chalet and the friendly, bilingual chalet staff who live nearby can help with day and/or evening child-care and if asked in advance can provide carefully prepared and tasty evening meals. particularly popular is the arrival night meal. The chalet is very close to a ski school meeting point and day time restaurant and a few hundred mts from the regularly circulating (every 15 mins) free ski bus and the village has a well stocked supermarket, 2 bread/patisserie shops and several restaurants, cafes and bars. There is a nightclub in Le Grand Bornand.

    • The chalet has a large area of south-facing terrace and a barbeque and a ping pong table and equipment and is well equipped with garden furniture etc. on the northwest side of the chalet is a wide sheltered balcony to watch the sunset or the passing of the Tour de France, which passes close by almost every year as the Col de Colombiere is a grade 1 climb.

    • The area is a major center for paragliding and the snow park is rated in the top 10 in France. There are 2 cinemas in the vicinity often with English language films. There is a newly created forest adventure park situated next to the skating rink. There is great cross-country skiing (the village has 2 world champions and 4 olympic medal winners at the last winter games. There is a chance to try ski-joering behind horses, dog-sledding and moto-neige on skidoos. Every Wednesday morning the market takes place in Le Grand Bornand as it has for centuries.
