Vacation Rental Description
Thank you for enquiring about Résidence les Gentianes. Your holiday accommodation is in the quiet village of Doussard, at the south end of Lac d’Annecy. Only a few minutes from the grassy beach at Doussard/Bout du Lac on the shores of Lake Annecy and its spectacular mountain scenery, swimming, water sports, cycling and walking; also good for golf; pony riding. It is convenient by car for Annecy itself, as well as Albertville and for skiing at resorts including the nursery slope at Montmin a few minutes away, Semnoz nearby, La Clusaz, Les Saisies and Megève. Courchevel is accessible via Albertville, and Chamonix and Mont Blanc are reachable by Autoroute. There's an Internet Cafe near Doussard, on the road along the lake to Annecy. Facilities
Finished only a few years ago, Appartment 1 is equipped to a very high standard in the kitchen, living area and bedrooms. Sleeps 6 in the main bedroom (150cm, UK king size bed); mezzanine double bedroom; and bunks in bedroom 3. Sofa-bed in the living area means it can sleep up to 8. Cleaning and Linen service refers to our "Housekeeping package" that is a one-off charge to provide towels and bedlinen and an after-stay clean. (We ask vistors to leave the place tidy but we don't expect you to get the mop and dusters out!) We have a large balcony that's big enough for eating outdoors in the warm weather, and has a view to Mt du Charbon; and there's a garage. An excellent supermarket, boulangerie, bank, other local shops, Bar/Brasserie/Pizzeria El Kemao (with internet access) and Morganes Cafe/Bar/Brasserie are all less than 5 minutes walk.

Rentals usually are Saturday-Saturday, especially after Easter until October. Prices are indicative as rentals vary by season and even from week to week(eg in Low Season "from £300"). School holidays cost more than off-peak weeks. A 25% deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due 8 wks before arrival. There's a one-off "housekeeping charge" for towels, bedlinen and an after-stay clean (and in winter for heating). You can pay by £cheque/bankers order or in £/€ by electronic funds transfer; and we ask also for a damages deposit cheque in your local currency that we hold on file. Visitors from UK, Ireland, mainland Europe, USA and Canada and Australia have told us afterwards how much they enjoyed staying at Residence les Gentianes during their time at Lake Annecy. They have given lots of reasons, that I'll send you with my response if you submit an enquiry. We have had families stay with us as often as five times since 2003! We suggest booking early for the most popular weeks in the summer, as in recent years they have all been booked by the end of the previous December!
