Only one hour from Geneva, in a protected alpine paradise that is truly exceptional, Chalet Chocolat sits within its own landscaped, alpine gardens above the pretty village of Verchaix, near Samoens. From its sunny terraces and balconies, it enjoys sensational views over the Giffre Valley to the mountains of the Grand Massif and the Mont Blanc range beyond, the most impressive and highest mountains in the French Alps.
The chocolate box exterior belies its smart, contemporary interior. Snuggly wrapped in gorgeous, warm timber in harmony with local tradition, its interior is simple yet sophisticated.
No expense has been spared in creating a chalet offering the very best in facilities and creature comforts, for discerning guests wishing to indulge their senses after a day of physical activity.
Chalet Chocolat is a low allergan environment and boasts a host of ecological credentials.
The chalet is 95 metres/yards from the free ski bus and 2 minutes drive to the nearest ski lift, where you can access skiing altitudes of 2500 metres (8250ft) in a matter of minutes to the ski resort of the Grand Massif which has an excellent snow record due to its proximity to Europe's highest mountain .There are three bars/restaurants very close by, in the village centre.
With numerous activities within a 5 minute driving radius of the chalet including a lake with its own life guarded beach, high-wire park, outside multi pool swimming centre, paragliding, tennis courts, a volley ball pitch, horse riding, rafting kayaking, mountain biking trails, rock climbing and the famous via ferratta ladders, caving in the worlds fourth largest cave and some of the best hiking in Europe with 100's of miles of trails and refuges.
In the winter, there are 265 km's of alpine ski pistes amongst pretty ,alpine villages to explore, 90 km's of ski randonnee trails, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice skating, snow mobiling, nordic walking and countless free activities and much entertainment put on by the local tourist offices.
Within an hours drive there is the Swiss city of Geneva and the famous lake to explore, Chamonix and the great Mont Blanc,the highest mountain in Western Europe with scenery to take your breath away. Annecy , the liitle Venice of France, a medieval town by the cleanest and most beautiful lake in Europe. Take a trip through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy and the pretty alpine towns of the Aaoste Valley.
There is more than enough here to keep the whole family occupied at any time of year!
Facilities
Chalet Chocolat offers accomodation of up to 5 bedrooms with four en suite bathrooms, offering Raindance showers and with one, a jacuzzi bath. Three of the bedrooms access the top balcony and fitness/gym area. The open plan living area is dominated by a large stone fireplace and huge, buffalo leather Roche Bobois sofas. There is a cinema and music system with dvd and sat TV and wifi connection also. The living area can comfortably support 12 people and leads out to the south eastern terrace where there is a state of the art hot tub spa pool with stunning views of the mountains all around. On the ground floor is a games room, with an additional TV. There is another large terrace, with an outdoor table tennis table, additional exterior seating and BBQ with a pleasant flat area laid to lawn. (The ground floor interior is rented out as an addition when groups of guests exceed 10 in number for a flat rate of £600/week)

Only one hours drive from Geneva, Chalet Chocolat sits within its own pretty alpine garden, facing due south with sensational views from its balconies, terraces and hot tub spa over one of the most beautiful and protected mountain areas in France. Behind the chalet is a large mountain area awarded with special status to protect its ancient forests, rare orchids, mammals and birds. Below the chalet and a ten minute walk down hill, is a large lake with beach, volleyball and adventure park.If you could choose a place on earth more suited to the perfect holiday during any season of the year, you would be hard pressed to find a better location!
There is something for everyone here, with some great cities within an hours drive, Geneva, Annecy, Aoste(Italy). Some world class golf courses also well within an hours' drive. Some of the best skiing to be had anywhere and numerous outdoor and cultural activities in both winter and summer, the autumn provides opportunity for some fantastic hiking with the colours of the fall, the rutting deer and the high pressure system allowing normally dry weather to remain over the region creating fiercely blue skies..
With the spring comes the snow melt and the mountains with its wild flowers and waterfalls, burst into life, lifting the spirit with their beauty. Come and explore this region of the French Alps, you may never want to leave!

Calais to Chalet Chocolat takes 8 hours by car. During the winter the TGV ski train stops at Cluses and is only 20 minutes drive away. Geneva airport is one hour away and is served by numerous budget airlines all year round.
