Whether you stay in the winter for the ski or you come at other times Chatel is wonderfully positioned close to the border of Switzerland near Lake Geneva. Therefore if shopping is your thing the town of Geneva is less than two hours drive, or if you prefer water sports and the beach then closer and less than an hours drive you can be at the beach or even listening to some great rhythm & blues at the Montreux Jazz Rock Festival. Combine that with the great scenery and wonderful hiking and mountain biking country you can either combine your activity break with peaceful episodes or concentrate on whatever takes your fancy.
