Vacation Rental Description
Bernex is situated in the north mountains of the Haute Savoie area of the Alps – known as the Chablais Region. It is under 1 hour from Geneva Airport, or a 10 hour drive from UK, or take the train to Evian and hire a car/taxi and drive to Bernex in under 15 minutes. Our detached chalet is in a fantastic location with stunning views and in excellent order throughout. It is well equipped, even for those that have very young families.
There are 4 double bedrooms, two have lovely balconies with fantastic views. Two have double beds and two with twins. There is also a double sofa bed and single futon should you require these. Three bedrooms are on the second floor, with a bathroom and separate loo. One bedroom is on the first floor with shower room and separate loo. The kitchen is separate and the sitting room is open plan, as is the dining room which has double doors to spacious balcony with fantastic views. Downstairs in the ‘cellar’ is a Utility Room with Table Tennis Table in the adjoining room. There is also a garage and outside parking for several cars and a lockable ground floor utility area for you to keep skis, sledges, mountain bikes, walking boots etc. The chalet has a private fenced garden.
In the Summer Bernex offers plenty of activities – tennis, petanque, horse riding, mountain biking, parapente, fishing and rafting, together with recreational and cultural activities. With nearby golf, sailing, swimming, climbing, paragliding, white-water rafting and canyoning at Lake de la Beunaz, and the famous Dent d’Oche at 2222 metres high for those keen for a challenge. However for those less adventurous there are many ramblers paths which accommodate all levels. More than enough to keep the most active of people busy on their relaxing holidays – you’ll need two weeks! If the local activities are not enough, Lake Geneva and Evian are 15 minutes away, have many attractions such as water sports, spa & thermal baths, beaches and bars to give you that waterside feel – not to mention Evian Mineral Water! There are various shops in Bernex which you can visit and sample some of the local products. Alternatively, just sit back, relax and enjoy the views and atmosphere of this naturally beautiful area.
In the Winter Bernex offers its own ski area of 50 km, between 1000 and 2000 metres, with a variety of runs to suit all levels and also breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. It also boasts 34 snow canons with their own water reservoir. Winter Walking and Cross Country skiing are further activities that the Bernex valley, plateau du Gavot, has to offer, together with sleigh rides and sledging. Whilst Bernex offers sufficient skiing, there is also Thollon les Memises 10 minutes away, together with La Chapelle d’Abondance, under 30 minutes away which is linked to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.
Facilities
The house is fully equipped like a home. We also have baby facilities; ie. steriliser, cots, high chair. Please ask for further details. We do consider pets but we MUST know about them.
Activities
Bernex is ideally located for a variety of outdoor sports. There is a tourist office about a minute's walk from the chalet and they have a host of information on local activities in the surrounding area.
Lac Leman aka Lake Geneva is 15 mins away by car, many watersports activities are available on the lake. There is also a fabulous swimming pool complex within Evian on the lake side for those with very small children.
Bernex has a fabulous Riding School right in the centre just a 5 min walk from the chalet.
Children's playground is 2 mins away by foot.

To secure your booking we would require a 25% non-refundable Deposit. The Balance would be due 8 weeks prior to your rental period commencing. We also request a Security Deposit of £100 per week, which is fully refundable subject to Terms & Conditions ie. no breakages, chalet left as clean as it was when you arrived etc. Please feel free to ask any questions.
