Vacation Rental Description
The department of DROME (Dutch word for 'dreams') is one of the most beautiful departments in France.
Here you will discover our four cottages surrounded by old growth forests and rural meadows. Our village, GRANE, is situated approx 150 kms south of Lyon and the guest houses are all constructed in the style of the French 'manoir' - manor house. Each of them faces a different direction and has its own shady terrace, private entrance and parking area. The limestone walls, up to 2metres thick not only provide a very special ambience, they ensure comfortable summer and winter temperatures within. The 7 hectare property assures you pure natural surroundings with peace and quiet, but best of all, total relaxation. The 10m x 5m pool varies in depth between 1m and 1.9m and comfortable deck chairs invite you to sunbathe after your swim. Children are able to enjoy the big playground with its swings and climbing rack or play volleyball. You have access to mountain bikes or the fitness room and after an energetic day you will enjoy a relaxing sauna. Later, if you don't want to cook indoors, there is an outdoor barbecue available at no extra charge.

The department of the Drome in the region of Rhone Alpes is a tempting destination offering a magical mixture of contrasting climate and scenery. It extends from Provence in the south to the Dauphine in the north and from the stunning pre Alps in the east to the river Rhone in the west.
The department includes hot Mediterranean zones of the south with their Olive plantations and the famous blue fields of Lavender. In the centre and north are the fruit orchards. The terrain rises eastwards to the mountains which provide high summer grazing for sheep and goats as well as skiing in the winter.
Only the cultivation of wine is practiced all over: in the north the Crozes-Hermitage, in the mountain valleys at Die the Clairette, in the south the Côte du Rhône with the well-known brands Chateau neuf de Papes, Gigondas, Tavel etc.
These are AOC-areas. Everywhere in the region you can find small wine-growers with an excellent wine quality.
