There is an excellent Hypermarket 10 minutes drive away. Freshly picked melons, peaches, nectarines, tomatoes, aubergines etc can be purchased from the local Mayor's farm in July and August. 
 
The village of Taradeau boasts an award-winning wine cooperative and close by are a number of first class chateaux where many interesting wines may be sampled.  
 
Numerous reasonably priced and also gastronomic restaurants are within a short drive. 
 
There are many golf courses in the area and public tennis courts in the village.
