Vacation Rental Description
This lovely property is a 200 year old bergerie which has been restored to provide a wonderfully comfortable home with all modern conveniences whilst retaining its period charm and Provencal character. It is set in an exceptionally peaceful location amongst half an acre of gardens with mature trees, shrubs and a herb garden. Terracotta flower-filled pots line the south-facing terrace, which runs the full length of the house, and which has a shaded dining area. Double French doors lead directly into the wooden beamed living/dining room with its traditional fireplace, and open plan kitchen, fitted with modern appliances including Bosch oven, gas/electric hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer, dish washer, microwave. There are archways into the cool hallway and into the sitting room, furnished with sofas, English books, satellite TV, DVD player and CD player. A small ‘cave’ off the hallway has a fitted wine rack and an additional fridge.
There are three double bedrooms on the first floor of the main house, 1 double, and 2 twins (one with air conditioning), all with fitted wardrobes and mosquito blinds on the windows. The master bedroom has an archway through to the en suite bathroom, with bath, separate shower, vanity unit with washbasin, toilet, and further fitted cupboards. The second bathroom, tiled in Salernes tiles, has a shower, vanity unit with washbasin, and a toilet.
There is a separate studio apartment in a renovated stone barn, with its own entrance and sun terrace. The studio comprises a sitting area with sofa, a double bed on the mezzanine reached by a spiral staircase, a shower and washbasin and a separate toilet.
The large garden has lawns leading to the superb swimming pool (12 metres by 8 metres) bordered by palms and other sub-tropical plants. Adjacent to the pool down a couple of steps is a further terrace with seating and shade from mature fig and walnut trees. There is floodlighting in the garden and the pool. A garden shed stores deckchairs, a table tennis table and outdoor games. There are magnificent rural views over wooded hills.
