We have just come to the end of a most wonderful stay in your beautiful old water mill. The house had everything we needed.
Such a beautiful location. Amazing peace and quiet. Fantastic hearing the water all day.We loved it and hope to return. M and J.
We have had a lovely time in the moulin. Our 2 year old daughter was very excited about the donkey! We found the apartment very agreeable and spacious. The location is great with excellent views.Aups is a wonderful village with friendly people. Family V.
We have been coming to Provence for 25 years and never fail to be enchanted with the beauty of the area. Aups is a wonderful Provencal village and a great base for exploring the region.
La Cascade is excellent, very well equipped kitchen (unusual in holiday lets) lovely patio with a gas BBQ (what a treat)- we had many candlelit meals listening to music and of course la cascade. The views are beautiful. M and G J.
Not a 'villa for 8 with a pool' La Cascade is perfect for couples or a small party who want a characterful, economical base to explore the wonderful Gorge de Verdon, Lac Ste Croix, or the delightful "villes perchées" in the surrounding hills.
We've aimed to retain the character of this old water-powered olive mill, dating back to 1740, and present it equipped as we'd like to find it.
Personally I love the spring, early summer and September down here,
(the latter possibly for the 7-a-side cricket competition in Entrecasteaux!) but the constant plashing of the millstream and the mini-cascade are refreshing in the height of summer.
There's always something going on in Aups, traveling fairs, small circuses, music in the square, and of course, boules. The winter is the time for hunting; wild boar, deer and game birds and the thursday truffle market(nov-march) is rated the third most important in France!.
The black gold is featured in many of the excellent restaurants on the "route des truffes". If you like wine-tasting there are numerous dégustation chateaux in the area. Come, chill out and enjoy.
