Vacation Rental Description

Apartment on ground floor of owner occupied villa overlooking the Golfe de La Napoule with views towards Cannes & the Iles de Lérins. The swimming pool is shared with the owners, who generally use it only when tenants are out. The apartment is one level up from the road & parking, and is not therefore really suitable for handicapped guests. A car is essential, not only because the property is on a hillside about a kilometer from the village shops, but in order to visit the many activities available on the Côte d'Azur .

There are several golf courses in the area, including two in Mandelieu itself. Mandelieu has shops, supermarkets and restaurants for all daily needs, whilst Cannes offers plenty of "up-market" opportunities. The coast is dotted with marinas and several beaches provide access to water sports including equipment hire. Mountain biking and hiking trails abound on the Esteril hills, but access is occasionally restricted in exceptionally hot summers because of fire risks.
Most towns have cinemas, (Cannes and Nice provide English language films as well as French).
Art galleries and museums abound; many towns highhlight their former connections with famous artists such as Picasso, whilst museums cover a wide variety of interests, such as archeology (prehistoric & Roman), crafts and traditions (notably perfumes in Grasse, glass in Biot), and historical topics (the area has a turbulent history)

Travel Info: This apartment is part of an owner occupied villa, with diect access to a swimming pool, and superb views over the Golfe de La Napoule towards Cannes and the Iles de Lérins. Inland, there are views of the pre-Alpes de Grasse with the mountains of the Mercantour National Park in the distance. Mandelieu-La Napoule Has all the normal facilities, restaurants, beach bars, supermarkets, banks etc, whilst cannes is easily accessible for upmarket shopping. Beaches in Mandelieu are well manicured sand, unlike the primarily stony beaches east of Cannes.

Easily accesible from Nice airport (30 minute drive), by TGV to Cannes, or by road (A8 is 5 minutes from the villa).

There are superb sea views over the Golfe de La Napoule, towards Cannes and the Iles de Lérins, hills and mountains in the immediate hinterland to the west and behind Grasse, and the often snow capped peaks of Mercantour National Park visble in the distance.

As the villa is about 1.5 kms from the nearest bus stop, a car is essential.

Apartment with swimming pool and views over golfe de La Napoule

This one-bedroom, fully eqipped apartment with outdoor pool, terrace and sea views is ideal for couples or families with up to 2 children, golfers & Cannes Film Festival attendees. It is on the ground floor (itself one level up from the road) of a private villa set on a hillside overlooking the Golfe de La Napoule just west of Cannes. The area is residential and very peaceful. Both bedroom and living room open directly onto the terrace and pool. Parking is available immediately outside the property. The apartment is bathed in sunlight all day in summer; in the evenings, it is in the shade, helping to keep it cool at night.
The villa is situated just above Capitou, formerly a separate village just north of Mandelieu. The village square is used by locals to play boules and for the Saturday market. Mandelieu offers a full range of shops, banks and supermarkets, whilst Cannes provides for more upmarket needs! All the beaches are sandy, and there are beautiful coves along the coast to the west. The local hills are covered with hiking and biking trails, whilst the Mercantour National Park (90 minutes by car) offers serious mountain terrain.The nearby towns provide many activities, museums, and architectural delights, whilst Italy (Ventimiglia) is less than an hour away by car. Restaurants of every grade abound.
