The stone-built farmhouse has lofty rooms, flagstone floors, 2 woodburners, comfortable furnishings in the traditional style. It has its own grounds, fields on 3 sides, a large barn with indoor space (table tennis, darts etc), and a garden with grape vines and splash pool (shared with Chez Michel). Le Bouex lies in the heart of the French countryside, 40 miles east of Poitiers, and within easy reach of the Loire region, the Limousin and the Brenne. It has farmland, rivers, woods and quaint ancient villages, but is also accessible to historic cities like Chartres and Limoges. Go on day trips to the coast at La Rochelle, or just wander through the countryside, enjoying the slower pace of life and stopping off to eat (and drink!) in the village auberges. There is plenty of entertainment for the family - snake island, the eagles at Chauvigny, the Ostrich Farm at Vaux, Futurascope at Poitiers. Also swimming, riding, boating, golf, climbing.
