Rowan Cottage is ideal for a family holiday, offering quality year round, accommodation. The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher and microwave, hob and oven. Separate sitting room with log fire and both UK satellite and French TV. Second lounge/dining room at the front of the property. There are two bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with two singles. A double bed/settee is also provided,so we can accommodate up to six people comfortably. There is full central heating for the winter months. The large enclosed garden has many fruit and nut trees and visitors are welcome to try the produce when in season. There is also a full size traditional boules court, childrens play area with swings and splash pool, sun loungers and barbecue on the patio. The cottage is situated midway between Courlay and Chanteloup villages, each having a restaurant, hairdressers, pharmacie, several bar/tabacs boulangeres and a small supermarche.
Longer lets are available by arrangement, for househunters or until your new home in France becomes available.

Nearby is Pescalis, Europe's largest inland fishing complex, (10 minutes by car) and for great family entertainment there is Puy du Fou Medieval Theme Park. (about 30 minutes away) Here you will find many activities and shows, including falconry and jousting with battle re-enactments by gladiators. The evening light/laser show and fireworks are also spectacular.
In Courlay village there is tennis and a skate board park as well as a children's playground and not far away is the local ostrich farm. In our nearest town, Bressuire, the chateau is open to visitors during the summer months and often hosts painting or sculptural exhibitions, and it is also the venue for the celebrations on Bastille day in July with entertainment and an evening fireworks display. There is a large swimming complex including flume at nearby Cerizay, a zoo at Doue la Fontaine, and Vendee beaches for seaside activities about 1 hour's drive away
