Maison Tournesol is located in the centre of a quiet and peaceful medieval village with a wealth of local history yet close to local amenities. A renovated, character 200-year-old family home with private swimming pool, gardens and secure parking it provides stylish and flexible accommodation for up to 17 people. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside ideal for walking and cycling. It is ideal for family groups who just want to relax in this peaceful setting or venture further afield to the many attractions nearby including Futuroscope and the beaches of La Rochelle.

Ground Floor:
On the ground floor is a large double bedroom with feature fireplace and en suite shower room, toilet and wash handbasin. One set of French doors off this room give access an enclosed sun patio and along with a further set of French doors give access to the courtyard pergola -- also with no steps to negotiate!

The entrance hall contains a comprehensive information centre and leads down to the spacious open plan kitchen and dining area; here you will find a fully fitted solid oak kitchen with a professional range cooker, microwave oven, American style fridge with ice-maker, three sinks and the all-important dishwasher. A generous selection of quality crockery, glassware and utensils are provided to ensure that everyone dines in style. The large lounge is enhanced by an original water feature and amply furnished with comfortable sofas, easy chairs and coffee tables. This room has a lovely open view of the terraced gardens, and should you require some entertainment you can enjoy the satellite TV (with some English channels), DVD, CD and sound system.
First Floor:
The first floor houses two large double bedrooms; one with a double bed and en suite shower room, the other with a Queen size bed with the en-suite having corner bath with shower over. This room is large enough to be converted into a "family" bedroom with more beds if required. On the landing is a separate WC and of course the obligatory automatic washing machine - all the linen, bedding and towels are included in the price! But don't forget to bring your own towels for the swimming pool and the beach!
Third Floor:
On the third floor there is a totally self-contained apartment which includes a fully equipped kitchen -- with gas cooker and fridge freezer -- and shower room and dining area. There are two bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with a double and single bed. These rooms have original heavy beams, low windows and sunlight windows in the ceiling - perfect for young adults or a family. Extra "Put-you-up" beds can be supplied for children on request.
Other Floor:
Accessed by a second staircase from the main lounge is the studio: This comprises a light and spacious double bedroom with en suite shower room, a further large room which can comfortably sleep up to four people in dormitory style. Off this room is an enclosed outdoor sun balcony with beautiful views over the landscaped garden and pool area.

There is easy access to the fantastic Atlantic port of La Rochelle with its fabulous harbour surrounded by many excellent sea food restaurants, great shopping and Aquarium. The Ile de Re is also well worth a visit for beautiful unspoilt beaches and the chic and fashionable harbour towns of St Martin and La Flotte.

Visit the Marais Poitevin for lovely scenery and a gentle day of punting on the many canals.

Poitiers for historic and artistic interest, boutiques and the famous theme park for the moving image - Futuroscope.

Fantastic local market at Niort on Saturday morning which can be followed by lunch in one of the many restaurants and a visit to the Donjon or walk along the beautiful river.

Visit the lovely town of Cognac for an interesting day out and a tour around one of the many distilleries.

The Tumulus de Bourgon, 2000 years older than the Pyramids in Egypt, and its Neolithic Museum is just a few miles away.

Self Catering Rate applies to 16 persons (or those persons listed on the booking form), extra persons are charged at £70 per person per week up to a maximum of 17 people. Permission must be sought from the owners if any guest has visitors that intend to visit or stay at the property during the rental and a charge may be made at their discretion. The owners may be resident on site within the confines of the estate, for all or part of the rental period. Pets may be allowed at owners discretion.

The self-contained apartment for up to 6 people can be rented separately, please enquire.

Preferred payment is on-line to owners bank account or by sterling cheque. Payment can also be made via PAYPAL. All Paypal fees to be paid by the renter. A refundable security deposit of £500 is required and 25% deposit of total rental is required on booking. During the winter months a separate charge may be levied to cover extraordinary heating costs.
