    • Loire Chateaux, historic towns, gardens and troglodyte caves are within easy reach. Green Venice, a conservation site consisting of miles of leafy canals, is an hour's drive as is the Atlantic coast with its magnificent beaches and facilities. There are large lakes too where many water sports are possible. La Rochelle and the Isle de Re are an hour and a half's drive.

    The theme parks of Puy de Fou and Futuroscope are also wthin an hour's drive. Paris can be rached in two hours by train.

    On the doorstep are two riding schools, tennis, kayaks, biking and walking. There are several cycle tracks through woodland. There are many fine restaurants,weekly markets and events including the highland games at Bressuire Chateau.

    Channel ports are 3 - 5 hours, TGV and airports 1 -2 hours.

    The immediate vicinity is tranquil, relaxing and popular with artists.
