This gite is located in an 400 year old original farm house. Here many authentic details have been carefully preserved... like the big wooden beams and the thick granite walls (more than 60 cm!) 
this gite is very romantic and nostalgic! 
This gite is suitable for 4 persons, but 6 persons is possible. 
Living rooms 
On the 2nd floor: Fully equiped kitchen, dining area and living with lounge suite, laminate floor, tv and dvd. Cosy wood burning stove for colder evenings.  
Kitchen facilities 
Kitchen includes gas oven, gas cooker with 4 rings and a range hood. Fridge and Freezer. Cupboards fully equiped. Everything for a comfortable stay!  
Bedrooms 
Bedroom on ground floor. With 2 single-person beds. Behind a small corner you will find also a bunkbed. Details: very old kitchen sink. In summer time this bedroom stays cool! 
On the ground floor you will also find a bathroom with a toilet, a big washbasin and a luxurious shower (with massage!) 
on the attic you find an other bedroom with a ceiling with very old wooden beams. Here you find 2 single-person beds. 
 
Strictly no smoking inside gite La Marchadaine or elsewhere insuide the buildings!

External facilities  
You have a private garden near your gite/cottage, with your own garden furniture. 
 
You have lots of privacy in your gite and your garden, but you may also choose to join others at the terrace, the swimmingpool. There are many beautiful spots where you can sit and relax. Where you can watch and listen to the many birds. 
 
Dogs (and other pets) are more than welcome provided that they have had all necessary vaccinations.

For your further relaxation and enjoyment there is a heated swimmingpool (unsupervised), boules de pitches, a volleyball-court, table tennis, bikes to rent and a sandpit. Inside, a dart board is provided, as well as a selection of games and books and all the informations/maps of the region. The ‘petit restaurant’ serves continental breakfast and here your can have also a tasty yet simple meal, and taste a glass of regional Charentaise wine or a delicious Pineau des Charentes. You also find a mall shop for basic provisions as well as sweets and ice cream. And every morning we offer freshly baked croissants, pains au chocolat and baguettes.We organise a barbeque and pizza nigthat the campsite! You may join that!In the restaurant you will find a computer, where you can check your mail and send a message to your family. we have also installed WIFI, so you can work on your laptop while sitting on the terrace.

For the active visitor, Essubras is also the starting point for a variety of walking, cycling and driving tours throughout the Charente-Limousine 
The nearby lakes feature excellent water quality and are ideal for swimming, rowing, canoeing, fishing (carp and other fish) or relaxing. Other facilities nearby: tennis, golfcourts, racing on a circuit. 
 
All over the area around Essubras, you can take a trip into the past and visit a number of chateaux, of menhirs and dolmens. And for those looking to enjoy the flora and fauna, it is at its breathtaking best in May, September and October. 
There are plenty of museums and historic places of interest to visit. Such as Angouleme, Limoges, Confolens. At about 15 kilometres from Essubras you find Oradour-sur-Glane and its Centre de la Memoire. This village remembers its 642 martyrs who were murdered by the German SS on the 10th June 1944. The village has remained unchanged since 1944
