Chez les Rouges Queues is one of three 17-century farmhouses in the Confolens area of the Charente with stunning views of the River Vienne. Situated in a quiet hamlet surrounded by unspoilt countryside, most people agree that the have one of the most stunning locations in the Charente.  
 
The house are set in one acre of land with large 10 x 5 m swimming pool. Each house has its own exclusive outside dining area - table, chairs and essential barbeque - under its own covered pergola. The houses have been restored to reflect the period in which they were built, but with the added luxury of today's home comforts and are far removed from the idea of the typical French gite of yesteryear.  
 
Whilst the farmhouse was restored to reflect the period in which it was built it also has the added comfort of today's luxuries. Inside you will find thick stone walls, mammoth oak beams and impressive fireplaces.  
 
Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen with Smeg dishwasher, microwave, gas cooker and fridge. There are plenty of kitchen utensils and cookware, together with cutlery, crockery and glassware. The living room has a massive Charentais fireplace and a Louis XV style three piece suite - a perfect area to relax in the cool on those hot summer days or to toast near the log burner during the winter evenings. The dining room has a huge oak dining table, with six chairs.  
 
Upstairs there are three well-sized bedrooms - one double, one twin and one single. All bedrooms have traditional French bedroom furniture, with chevets and bedside lamps for that late night reading. The two front bedrooms have spectacular views of the River Vienne. The bathroom has a mosaic-tiled shower, washhand basin and WC. There is a 200 litre hot water supply so there is always lashings of hot water available.  
 
We offer you a self catering holiday where you have space and freedom. Once you've unpacked you're in charge: breakfast is ready when the croissants have been warmed in the oven: the bar is open when you pull the cork from the first bottle of wine of the day. Sit in the heat of the evening sun, looking at the River Vienne (at this point more than 80 metres wide), with a glass of pineau (a blend of cognac and wine) in your hand and watch the cows as they take their evening stroll across the fields.  
 
 
Situated in the Charente-Limousine, which is famous for its gently rolling countryside, and within easy reach of Poitiers, Limoges and Angouleme, this area is perfect for those who have dreamed of finding a holiday which offers the freedom to live the French way of life in one of the most beautiful and sunniest regions of France.

Before booking you are encouraged to read carefully the Conditions of Rental. After confirming your dates with us, please print off and complete the Online Booking Form. Although we can accept provisional bookings via telephone or email, you then have one week to confirm your reservation by sending your signed and completed booking form plus a 20% non-refundable deposit. The balance is required to reach the owners no later than 8 weeks before departure. A security deposit of £200 on each property is payable by the client with the balance of the total cost. All cancellations must be in writing and the cancellation is not effective until it is received and acknowledged by the owners. Scale of Cancellation Charges: More than 8 weeks before departure - Loss of deposit; 4-8 weeks before departure - 50% of Total Rental; less than 4 weeks before departure - 100% of Total Rental.
