Vacation Rental Description
Fleur de Lys' is a delightful 'Maison Bourgeoise' built in 1835, in the heart of the tranquil village of Ansac sur Vienne, with attractive rear gardens of about 1/3 of an acre, overlooking a 10m x 5m secure swimming pool, and containing a children's play area. There is also a 'hanger' (an open sided barn) adjacent to the house with dining table, gas barbeque, table-tennis and table-football. Guests are welcome to use all of these facilities.
The pleasant medieval market town of Confolens is nearby, most famous for its annual festival of Folk music and dance held in the middle of August, with at least a dozen dancing musical troupes, recently from as far afield as Russia, South Africa, Tahiti, Peru and Indonesia.
The house includes four en-suite guest rooms (three of which are suitable for families) and has been recently renovated and equipped by the current owners to a high standard to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The light and airy Breakfast Room has been equipped with a kitchen for the unlimited use of guests, with fridge, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and free tea and coffee making facilities. It also includes a lounge area with UK satellite / French TV and a DVD/Video player (Note - All bedrooms have French TV and DVD players) and has an attractive pot-bellied wood burning stove for the colder months. We have a good collection of mainstream and children's DVDs (as well as paperback books) which guests are welcome to borrow.
We are sure that the Fleur de Lys can provide you and your family with all you need for an ideal base to relax and explore this beautiful and interesting area; or just a comfortable stopover en route to your final destination and look forward to welcoming you to our home.
