Vacation Rental Description
Our aim is to help you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday in the heart of the Charente. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or an activity based holiday, our location can deliver both. The gite is enclosed by lovely Charentaise stone walls, which ensures both privacy and peacefulness. We are ideally placed on the edge of the traditional village of Sigogne only 5 mins from Jarnac the home of Courvoisier, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme resulting in easy access to all the regions attractions and facilities.
Facilities
The kitchen/diner is well equipped with all the usual kitchen utensils required for cooking. There is also an electric cooker & hob with extractor, microwave, dishwasher, fridge & washing machine. The lounge has a comfortable sofa with 2 armchairs, also some books & games for your use. Flat screen TV with English channels, DVD player, a number of DVD films for you to watch free of charge, & free wireless internet connection. Alfresco dining, BBQ & hot tub set in secluded garden. 4 adults bikes available to use free of charge. Secure parking. The garden & fruit trees are surrounded by high stone walls. We are ideally placed on the edge of the village of Sigogne only 5 mins from Jarnac the home of Courvoisier, which lies between Cognac and Angouleme resulting in easy access to all the regions attractions and facilities. Egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels provided on a weekly basis. Rental cost includes cleaning after each rental period.
Activities
Cognac golf course is only 10 minutes drive from the property and offers an 18 hole course, a 4 hole practice course and driving range. The club house offers good set lunches and drinks on the terrace overlooking the course. In addition to the Cognac course, there are 4 other golf courses within 1 hour of the property. The beaches at Royan and St Georges de Didonne are within 1 hour and provide the ideal sandy beach for the children, wide, long and flat and it doesn’t get overcrowded even on the hottest of days. You can also combine the beach with a bit of high wire run at the Ariel Parc situated overlooking the beach.We are 5 minutes drive from the river Charente at Jarnac, which is great for canoeing. We're 15 minutes drive from Cognac and 25 minutes drive from Angouleme. The motorway is easily accessible.
