17thc Chateau de Labaurie is set in large grounds overlooking the rolling countryside of the Charente and provides relaxing holidays. The Chateau is run by an English family offering B&B from €70 per night per double room, breakfast €8. There are four individual self-catering cottages, all fully equipped with modern comforts, patio areas and barbeques.
This tranquil estate has a 12 x 6 m. swimming pool with underwater lighting, perfect for a summer evening dip, table tennis barn, badminton and volley ball courts, small football pitch, and enchanting woodlands paths to explore.
Within walking distance to the local town for shops, weekly street market, bars, restaurants, river fishing, tennis courts, and ideally placed to visit famous wine regions, atlantic beaches, horse riding, canoeing, three nearby golf courses and scenic trips on the meandering Charente river.

Spacious and sunny cottage, with large open plan sitting room/dining area and kitchen. Wood burning fire, ideal for autumn lets. One double bedroom & 1 bedroom with 3 single beds. Shower room/wc. Terrace, veranda & barbeque.

Spacious cottage, open plan sitting room, dining area/kitchen. TV, DVD. Double bedroom, en-suite shower/wc. Terrace with barbeque. Well behaved pets allowed in this cottage except July & August. Price £220-£360 per week.
In the grounds is also a Large five bedroomed renovated Barn House sleeping 10, with own private pool. Price July & August £1750.per week.
Our self-catering accommodations have a 10% discount on the 2nd week booked.

Chateau de Labaurie offers french accommodation for you either in one of the elegant Chateau rooms for B&B from €70 per room, or one of 4 self-catering individual cottages. We have 43 acre grounds to stroll through, set in beautiful countryside of the sunny Charente. Swimming Pool, illuminated during the summer evenings, badminton court, table tennis barn, small football pitch and fishing pond. Cottages from £220 - £870 per week. Suitable for all ages, within walking distance to Chalais with its weekly street market, tennis courts, cinema and theatre and shops, we are ideally placed for visiting the local vineyards, Cognac and Bordeaux, and meandering river trips on the River Charente and La Dronne at Auberterre. Chateau de Labaurie is just a lovely historic small estate with a family friendly atmosphere, offering simple holidays for people with imagination, woodland walks, badminton and volley ball grass courts, a small football pitch, table tennis and its inviting sparkling swimming pool.
For a family of 10 wanting exclusivity we have in the grounds the Old Farm Quarters, a luxury renovated barn with five bedrooms, two kitchens, two bathrooms with own swimming pool, table tennis and lawned gardens. Priced £1600 - £1850 per week. A second week booked has a discount of 10%.

A Briliant Getaway!

Chateau de Labaurie is so beautifully situated on the edge of Chalais in extensive grounds, which have been developed beautifully into a tranquil location. All of our very large family enjoyed the use of the pool and it was so nice to share it with other families who were on holiday there too, which kept everyone happy. The site is small enough to be peaceful, but large enough not to feel isolated - for us, a perfect combination! The Chateau is also well located to visit the local markets and we particularly enjoyed a canoe ride along the river from Aubeterre and some nearby lake beaches. We can highly recommend the Chateau de Labaurie as a relaxed place to take your family away on holiday.

The chateau and grounds are the perfect embodiment of France. The Joli Coin was simple and clean with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Bev & Elaine had thought of everything to entertain lively children (large pool, badminton/volley ball nets, football pitch & undercover tabel tennis/darts with all equipment) and energetic adults or to allow those who wished it peace, tranquility & relaxation. They are friendly and helpful hosts who are there if needed but do not intrude. We had a fabulous time and sincerely hope to return

First impressions are very good the Chateau overlooks the main road and the instructions for getting up the hill and into the driveway were good (sometimes these will drive you mad if they are wrong as you are always tired after the drive) The property was very clean and well presented and the TV worked for UK sat as in the brochure.When there was problem as minor shortage in the kitchen our hosts (Elain and Mr Bev) addressed it straight away. There was plenty of Sun beds out side each unit facing the pool and lot more actually around the pools edge. You must try the food at the local Chateau recommended by Elain the food was excellent and very good value(and the owner speaks good english also 50% of there patroons are UK people)The village of Aubeterre is close by a visit to St Emmillon is a must. we only had time to go to Bordeaux for one day you musy try the Park and ride is so good a very cheap
