Vacation Rental Description
This newly converted farm building is next to the owners permanent home, and will sleep 6 people comfortably in 3 bedrooms. As well as a well-appointed shower room, there is a 2nd W.C. with washbasin downstairs, a must for young families. There is a large kitchen/diner, and a comfortable lounge with wood-burning stove for out of season rentals.
Outside there is a large, grassy garden suitable for ball games, etc. There are 2 terrace areas for guests' use, with outdoor furniture and barbecue.
The property is situated between Matha, a very small market town with local faciltiies, and St. Jean dAngély, a small but lively historic town on the ancient pilgrim route to St.Jacques de Compostelle. In the summer months there are plenty of activities for adults and children, many centred around the park and 'plan d'eau', where you can also hire pedalos and kayaks. Overlooking the park is a leisure pool and fitness complex.
Further afield you can visit the famous town of Cognac, with its renowned brandy houses, Saintes, with Roman remains, including an amphitheatre, or La Rochelle, the capital of Charente Maritime, good for shopping,watching boats in the harbour, or just sitting outside a quayside café watching the world go by.
Between 50 and 90 mins. drive you will find a beach to suit your taste; sophisticated, family friendly, or wild and unspoilt.

The three bedrooms, a double, a twin and one with full size bunk beds, are all bright with high ceilings and some exposed beams. There is room in the double or bunkbed room for a cot if required. The shower room has a corner entry shower, twin washbasins in vanity units, and W.C. There is a second toilet with washbasin next to the small utility area downstairs.
The large kithen diner is equipped for 6 people to cook and eat, with a highchair available on request.
The lounge has seating for 6, with T.V. and C.D. player, and a woodburning stove giving a cosy focal point in cooler weather.
Bed linen is included in the rental price, as are tea towels and hand towels for the kitchen. Bathroom towels can be hired at a cost of £4 per set. Please bring your own towels for beach or pool.

Everyday shopping facilities, banks etc. are only 5 mins away at Matha, with St. Jean d'Angély for larger supermarkets and more choice at 15 mins.
