Les Herons has had a full rewire and redecoration in 2010 season and is sympathetically extended & renovated for comfort, safety and enjoyable family holidays. Les Herons is decorated with a slightly marine/nautical theme throughout. With it's gardens, large lounge, separate dining room, two kitchens, shower room and separate W.C., as well as three very large bedrooms sleeping up to seven people comfortably, it really is the ideal family sea-side holiday. Les Herons is a 126 metre square detached cottage. The gardens offer two furnished patio's, one very private and one with stone BBQ and sun furniture and also offer off road parking for 2/3 cars.

The pretty harbour at Port des Monards can be seen from the garden gate and is a calm quiet backwater with two family restaurants, each with varied menus and outdoor dining and relaxation areas. The picnic tables on the port are great for the days you're staying local, for a days fishing, sun bathing and enjoying the local seafood or perhaps your own picnic delights. The port of Les Monards is a relaxed working and leisure port where there's always something to watch and wonder at. The beaches, ports, and seaside towns very close by have inspired the nautical theme running through the house.

The three bedrooms each have lots of character and space for you and your clothes, fitted or generous freestanding wardrobes and chests for all your holiday togs. The beds are comfortable and the linen, pillows & duvets INCLUDED in the price and changed weekly. We include beach, bath, hand and tea towels also changed weekly. The gound floor master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second large bedroom, also on the ground floor is a twin room, the third bedroom is a large mezzanine, it's the only 1st floor room in the house. The mezzhas a single and double bed available, the single can be moved in to the twin if preferred. There's a bed settee in the lounge if you want to bring along an eighth or ninth guest. The house kitchens are fully equipped as listed. The owners, that's us! live nearby and will meet you at the start and end of your holidays. We're near enough to help if you need us, far enough away for you to enjoy our house.

• Travel Info: The northern channel ports are just 7 hours drive, St Malo and Roscoff about half that, the southern channel ports are somewhere in between. Airports at La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Angouleme are within the hours drive, Bergerac, Limoges and Poitiers are approx 3 hours drive on generally quiet French roads. TGV fast train to La Rochelle, Bordeaux or Angouleme then local trains to Pons or Royan. A hire car or your own car is highly recomended if not essential.
