Vacation Rental Description
Two lovely stone-built cottages near Cognac set in mature gardens in a village setting and including a large swimming pool.The cottages are called The Stables and Little Barn and are in a small village called Lamberniere in the commune of Mons.The town of Matha to the north is just 5 minutes away and is great for local shopping with supermarkets,bakers and restaurants.The historic town of Cognac is 20 minutes to the south.Famous for its brandy houses which offer tours and tastings,and set beside the River Charente,Cognac offers much to enjoy. 
The Stables is a single-storey cottage renovated with taste and artistic flair.Where possible,stone wals have been retained to keep the character and atmosphere,and pictures,mirrors and objects d'art add interest.The unusual shaped lounge has a sofa,2 armchairs,coffee tables and a bookcase.All rooms have electric heaters and the lounge also has a woodburning stove for cosiness in winter.Wide-screen TV offers French and English TV and a wide variety of DVDs and tapes can be played on the combination player.The lounge leads into a spacious kitchen/diner,well aquipped with a 5-ring gas cooker,fridge/freezer,washing machine,microwave,electric kettle and toaster.The bedrooms (1 double,1 twin) and bathroom lead off the kitchen - the bathroom has a bath/shower,washbasin,toilet and heated towel rail.Stable doors lead from the kitchen onto a privale patio and private section of garden,furnished with sunbeds,barbecue,table,chairs and parasol.The 10m x 5m swimming pool is set within the half acre mature grounds. 
Little Barn has been renovated with the same attention to detail,but has the bedroms upstairs (1 double,1 twin).The lounge is a large light room with windows on three sides,and has a character fireplace,beamed ceiling and stone walls.All rooms have electrec heaters and the fireplace has a woodburning stove for winter warmth.The lounge/diner is furnished with a sofa,2 armchairs,coffee tables,bookcase and dining table and chairs.Wide-screen TV offers French and English TV and combination DVD/tape player.The kitchen leads off the lounge/diner as has the same comprehensive equipment as The Stables.The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath/shower,washbasin,toilet and heated towel rail.The bedrooms have sloping ceilings and views over the garden.Stable doors lead from the lounge onto a private patio facing west ( a real suntrap)with views over the swimming pool and gardens.The patio is furnished with barbecue,table,chairs and parasols.

    Low season - November to April 200 euros per week Mid season - May and October 375 euros per week High season - June to mid-July and September 580 euros per week Peak season - Mid-July to end August 950 euros per week. Special rates available for long winter lets - househunters specially catered for. 25% deposit payable on booking,the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival.Breakage deposit of £100 taken. Payment can be made in euros or sterling equivalent at the time payment made (usually bt sterling cheque).
