Vacation Rental Description
Renovated in 2008, this small barn was previously home to a small herd of goats. The cottage is designed to be suitable for a couple having just one large open plan mezzanine bedroom. There is ample space for us to provide an extra single bed within the bedroom for an additonal adult or child if required at no extra cost.
The large first floor mezzanine bedroom has a king sized leather sleigh bed. Two skylights provide ample light.
The en-suite bathroom has a large walk in shower and a his and hers wash basin.
The exposed original oak beams add to the character of this beautiful room.
The lounge has a feature woodburning stove which make this gite also suitable for out of season holidays.
This cottage shares a 10 metre [33ft] by 5 metre [16ft] heated, chlorine free swimming pool with our other small gites. The pool has a constant depth of 1.2 metres [4ft] and is fully enclosed by a wall for privacy and conforms to the very high French safety standards for pools.
The pool is surrounded by a very large patio area where ample sun loungers and parasols are provided. It has stunning views over the local countryside.

Activities
Montendre (8kms west) our local little town, has two supermarkets and a street market on Thursday morning. During July and August the highlight of the week is the evening market [marche nocturne] on Tuesdays, here you can eat and shop at the same time and watch the free street entertainment, bliss.
Royan and St Georges-de-Didonne (77kms west) boasts a super sandy beach and a well kept zoo.
St Emillion (70kms south east) very famous for its wine and a lovely little town to visit.
La Rochelle (147kms north west) a gorgeous port with lovely streets and an interesting Aquarium.
The Dune de Pyla and Arcachon (135km south). Arcachon is a superb chic coastal town, sandy beaches and a long promenade full of restaurants and shops. The dune is a bit further round the coast and is the largest sand dune in Europe, doesn't sound very exciting on paper but it is breath taking.
