St. Hillaire de Loges. Approx. 15mins from Fontenay-le-Comte, 45 - 60 mins from the long sandy Atlantic beaches from La Tranche to Les Sable d'Olonne.
The area has many attractions to suit all the family and is ideal for walking, bike riding, bird watching, fishing, sailing etc. There are a number of high quality golf courses in the Vendee many of them to competition standard
The nearby villages of Foussais Payre & St Hillaire de Loges have bars, restaurants boulangeries, butchers, post offices & small supermarkets. You are 10 mins from the Mervent lake and forest and 15 mins drive is the larger town of Fontenay-le-Comte and has all the major stores and facilities you may require.
You are also just 50 mins the port town of La Rochelle with its wonderful seafood restaurants, the marine aquarium is well worth a visit with the family.
Other attractions like Futuroscope, Puy de Fou (le grand parcour and cinescenic night show) and the brandy houses at Cognac are all easy day trips.
