Le Gite Tranquille is set in grounds of a small orchard in the hamlet of La Jousseliniere which is 10 minutes from Sainte Hermine, where you will find a supermarket, chemist, bars, restaurants, banks, hairdressers, petrol & a local market every Friday. You can explore the forests, lakes, marsh lands, chateau's, churches, museums, golf, fishing, cycling, walking & much more. There is so much to see & do or you could just sit back & relax in the gardens surrounding the house.  
 
The Vendee boasts its own micro climate - with over 2000 hours of sunshine per year - equivalent to the French Riviera  
Places to Visit  
Luçon (10 miles away) is a charming town which is full of history -with the Jardin Dumaine Park noted as one of the “Most Beautiful Gardens of France”. There is also the centre-piece of the town - the Notre-Dame Cathedral.  
Fontenay-le-Comte (14 miles away) is a town of art & history which lies midway between the Poitou Marshes & the Forest of Mervent. The city has retained its beautiful architecture & has a particularly relaxed pace of life. The town has plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and a large street market on Saturday mornings.  
The port of La Rochelle (37 miles away) has a wonderful array of shops & boutiques. The harbour-side spoils you for choice of restaurants & there is a large Sunday market. The city has a rich historical heritage & wonderful museums. Those who love the sea & old ships should make for the port.  
Les Sables d’Olonne (40 miles away) reflects all the retro atmosphere of the seaside fishing ports & marinas.  
Le Puy du Fou (27 miles away)is the fantastic historical Theme Park - visitied by day as a fun way to explore the history of the Vikings or Gladiators & by night there is a unforgettable evening's entertainment in which 1200 amateur actors narrate the saga of Vendée.  
The Beaches of the southern Vendée are around 40kms away - La Tranche-Sur-Mer, La Faute-Sur-Mer & L’Aiguillon-Sur-Mer all full of life and activities throughout the summer. 
There are 5 18 Golf Courses in The Vendée and you can hire clubs on the spot at The Domangere au Nesmy & The Golf de Port Bourgenay.  
There is plenty of fishing in the area - Sea, Lake or river.

There is an open-plan living, dining & kitchen area with TV(UK sat.), DVD/Video, as well as books & games. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven & hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster & cafetiere. There is a utility room with washing machine, fridge/freezer, WC & hand basin. There is WiFi internet access in the house. There is a double bedroom with ensuite shower, WC & hand basin and a twin room with 2 single beds & ensuite bathroom, with bath, shower, WC & hand basin. Bed linen & towels are provided. A 3rd bed or cot can be put in the twin bedroom. A stair gate is fitted on the staircase. There are radiators in each room & the heating charge is included in the price. There is a private garden & patio area, with sun loungers & BBQ area. There is plenty of space in the orchard for picnics or kicking a ball around, and there is also a set of swings, a boules court, table tennis and bikes for your enjoyment.

Le Gite Tranquille lives up to its name, and you will find many a quiet country lane to walk or cycle along - you will be able to bird watch en route with many birds of prey and migratory birds nesting in the area - we'll even provide the bikes for your days out! Boating and fishing are available nearby on the lake at St Martin Lars or in the Forest of Mervent. For the more energetic guests, there is horse riding or a swimming pool within 20 minutes & the beaches of the southern Vendée are only 45 minutes drive away.
