Vacation Rental Description
The gite is a semi detached old stone house on a quiet road that leads to Lucon, close to a small village where we have our own chateau and you can buy bread at the Tabac. Plus on Wednesday evenings you can buy a pizza from the mobile oven on the Mairie car park. The accomodation comprises kitchen, dining room with stairs to the bedrooms,downstairs shower room with WC, and salon with sofa bed and TV with DVD player and video. There is plenty to watch or read, although we don't yet have French TV. 
 
The dining room is well furnished in pine and has original stone walls. We supply all you are likely to need for cooking and eating, but if there is something you feel is missing, don't hesitate to ask. 
 
The main bedroom is very large with double bed and will accomodate another single bed or cot if required. Bedroom two has bunk beds. We have a cot, highchair and stair gate available on request. 
 
The kitchen has full sized cooker and fridge, a microwave, double sink and drainer, plus plenty of storage. Use of a washing machine and tumble dryer is available on request. 
 
There is a large rear garden with fruit trees (help yourself if any fruit is ripe), garden table with parasol and chairs, + BBQ and garden games. There is a 28ft swimming pool and kiddies' paddling pool. Children must be accompanied by an adult to use the pools. Safe parking is available on the property. 
 
We are ideally situated for the superb beaches of the Vendee coast, which are all only around 30 minutes away. There are many interesting places to visit, such as Lucon, only a five minute drive away, where there are plenty of shops, hypermarkets and restaurants, plus a market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. 
 
Access to the house is via the back door nearest to the driveway. To get you going there will be a welcome pack when you arrive. I will enclose more detailed directions from the airport if you want them. 
 
Please make sure you clean up and leave the place as you would wish to find it, including disposing of any rubbish or recycling. Thank you. You will have to leave by 10.00 on the last day and takeover is not before 2.00 pm, unless by prior arrangement. 
 
Please note this is a non-smoking gite. Thank you for your co-operation. Also we are sorry but no pets are allowed.

    • Heating is available if required, but will be charged extra. Linen is provided free of charge, except for swimming towels, these you will need to bring.

    • Theme Parks, such as Puy de Fou and Indian Forest are very popular. 
    There is karting in the nearby town of La Jonchere. 
    All boating activities are available on the rolling Atlantic coast or on the beautiful canals of the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice). 
    At Brem sur Mer there is another place well worth a visit, where the only power to make the rides etc work is "you-power". We've heard it's great for anyone from 6 to 80+

    A £50.00 per week deposit is payable on booking. The balance is payable four weeks before your arrival. We accept sterling cheques. During July and August we take bookings only Saturday to Saturday, but out of season we may be able to accomodate other starting days. We require a £50.00 security deposit, which will be returned to you after your holiday.
