Vacation Rental Description
Traditional wooden beamed detached farmhouse standing in 2 acres of farmland, great for Summer family holidays. The house and grounds are secluded and face onto a very quiet country road. The property is properly fenced on the road side. The house is 144 m² and has oil-fired central heating. There are 4 generously proportioned bedrooms - the master bedroom with king sized bed is very spacious (covering half the surface area upstairs) and has its own shower and wash hand basin. There are 2 further twin bedded bedrooms upstairs, a shower/WC/WHB, and a separate WC and WHB. Downstairs there is a further bathroom with bath and shower, WC, WHB and a washing machine. There is a 4th bedroom with one adult sized bed and a pair of bunk beds (the bunk beds are only suitable for kids under the age of 10). There is an entrance hallway and a large living room with an open fireplace. It has a dining area and seating for 10 comfortably, and a kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and electric hob and separate grill and oven. Outside the French doors leading out of the living room into the garden is a patio with patio furniture for 10 and a BBQ. There is a large stone barn attached to the back of the house, which houses the boiler. There is a local French neighbour who acts as caretaker and checks the place over between lettings, She arranges for the grass to be cut regularly.  
It is located 2 kms away from the little village of Lairoux, which in turn, is 20 mins drive from magnificent sandy beaches with rolling surf if desired. It's close to the charming market town of Lucon (7 kms) with good shops and restaurants, with Les Sables d'Olonne to the north and La Rochelle to the south, (both approx 45 mins drive). The 'Puy du Fou' light show and 'Futurososcope' are easily reachable. The Vendee region is famous for its warm dry climate (vineyards, sunflowers and maize predominate) and its sandy beaches. The region is highly regarded for its wine and good value seafood including oysters, mussels, prawns. Being largely flat it is excellent for biking. It is loved by bird watchers and star gazers (you can see the Milky Way most nights!)

    We request a deposit of 40% of the total rental on signing the booking contract and the balance 2 full calendar months before occupancy. We also charge a breakages/cleaning deposit of £100 which will be returned in full providing no damage is observed by our caretaker and the property is left in a clean condition. All rental prices here are approximate to take into consideration the size of the booking party. It is clearly not fair to charge a couple the same as a party of 8. Bedlinen is provided. All beds have non-allergenic pillows and duvets.
