19th century Vendéen farmhouse converted into 3 fully equipped self-catering cottages. In a peaceful, rural setting between the villages of Apremont and Commequiers, with views over unspoilt rolling countryside.
The property provides easy access to the River Vie, the freshwater lake at Apremont with its supervised beach and numerous water-sports facilities,
and the wide sandy beaches of the Vendéen Atlantic coast. The seaside resorts of St.Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and St. Jean de Monts are only short drive away.
There is a choice of shopping facilities, from the three Hypermarkets in the busy market town of Challans (10 miles), to the excellent bakeries, delicatessen and market in the village of Commequiers (3 miles), where there is also a variety of bars and restaurants.
All 3 cottages have a main bedroom and convertible double-bed in lounge with separate/built-in wardrobe and bed high light switches.
Cottages 1 & 2 sleep up to 5.
Cottage 3 is a two bedroom cottage and sleeps 6. In addition to the main bathroom, the master bedroom has en-suite facilities.
Sleeping arrangements.
-- Cottage 1 : Double bed in master bedroom + single folding bed. Convertible double bed in lounge.
-- Cottage 2 : Master bedroom king-size bed + single folding bed, or 3 singles. Convertible double bed in lounge.
-- Cottage 3 : Double bed in master bedroom. Bunk beds in second bedroom, with optional third pull-out mattress bed. Convertible double bed in lounge.
All cottages : Accommodation is entirely ground floor with easy-care tiling throughout. The main bedroom is carpeted. All exterior doors and windows are double-glazed with externally mounted shutters. Heating is by individually operated electric convector heaters.
Kitchen contains : Fridge-Freezer, Microwave, Multifunction Oven, Ceramic Hobs and integrated extractor fan, Dishwasher, Washing Machine/Tumble Dryer, Double Sink unit, Kettle, Coffee Machine, Toaster, full set of cooking utensils, serving dishes and place settings
The bathroom is fully fitted with hand basin cabinet and storage cupboard. Bath with shower unit. Electric radiator with towel drying facility. Bath and hand towels are provided.
The Lounge / Dining Area has dining table and chairs. wardrobe (hanging space + shelves), easily convertible double bed settee (clic-clac), nest of tables, hi-fi system, wall-mounted TV, storage cupboard, telephone.
Pillows, duvet and bed linen are provided in all sleeping areas. Bed-high light switches in bedroom and lounge.
Large (8 x 4m) tiled Patio, with surrounding low wall and built-in flower beds. Garden furniture includes table, parasol, chairs, loungers, BBQ.
The 11x4m Pool is set in a fully tiled secured area, with solar shower at the entrance, a WC and shaded, covered porch. The enclosure is situated below cottages 2 and 3, alongside the play area. Sun beds provided.
Property Location
The property is situated 3 miles from the villages of Commequiers and Apremont, 10 miles south of Challans and 10 miles inland from the resort and fishing port of St. Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.
There is dual carriageway from St. Malo to Nantes with total journey time of only 3 hours.
Nantes Airport is less than 1 hour by road, La Rochelle approx 1.1/2 hrs.
