Sunflower Cottage is spacious, comfortably furnished and very well equipped for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Vendeen countryside. The large beamed sitting room has a 3 seater sofa, two seater sofa and an armchair as well as matching leg-rest. Satellite TV, English and French channels/DVD player. There is a large range of DVD's suitable for family viewing. The fireplace/ woodburner makes a wonderful focus for the room. Books/games etc. The bright and sunny country kitchen/ diner has a high vaulted ceiling with beams. Fridge, freezer,microwave, oven and a large range of cooking/serving equipment is provided. The dining table, which can seat up to eight pople, is beside the large kitchen window. In the adjacent utility area is the dishwasher, iron/ironing board, cleaning equipment etc. The ground floor bathroom has a bath with shower over. A polished wooden staircase leads to the first floor landing. The spacious main bedroom, has pine furnishings and comfortable rugs lamps etc. and a single guest bed. The second bedroom, which sleeps up to 3 people, has a single bed and pine bunk beds. Both the bedroom windows have views over the surrounding countryside.

Kingfisher Cottage is a detached gite set in a rural farming hamlet. Originally a grain store, it has been fully renovated to provide comfortable holiday accommodation for couples or small families. Inside, the fully-tiled open-plan ground floor has a beamed ceiling, exposed stone work and a feature fireplace. A comfortable sofa and two armchairs, together with lamps and rugs ensure the sitting area is a comfortable and relaxing place. Ideal for watching a video on the TV or reading a book from the selection provided after spending the day at the beautiful Lac de Rochereau or visiting the many historic villages and chateaux nearby. The fully-fitted corner kitchen provides ample room for preparing meals, with a fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, etc. A large range of cooking equipment is provided along with enough crockery and cutlery for serving up to six people. The large dining table has 2 carvery chairs and 2 dining chairs. There is a washing machine, as well as a clothes dryer, iron and small ironing board. In addition, there is a small double sofa-bed provided, which is suitable for small children only.

A new wooden staircase leads to the 1st floor accommodation, the landing, leads to the large double bedroom, which has a wooden floor, high vaulted ceiling and original oak beams. The two windows have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The bedroom is well furnished with a pine double bed, bedside tables and lamps, a large rug and cream-painted wardrobe, chest of drawers, long dressing mirror etc. The shower room has a tiled floor with shower, toilet and hand-basin and plenty of storage for your belongings.

Outside the gite has its own private patio area, however,the spacious garden and driveway is shared with Sunflower Cottage. Patio table and chairs together with sun-umbrellas, loungers and BBQ are provided. Our orchard just across the road provides extra space for parking, picnics, games or just relaxing in the sunshine.

All fuel, electricity and water is included in the rental charge. Bed linen is provided (with beds made up prior to your arrival).

The Cottages are set in a rural farming hamlet where the Vendee, Deux Sevres and the Charente all meet. It is a quiet and safe area, ideal for a relaxing and interesting holiday. There are open fields, woods and streams, making the area perfect for country walks, bird-watching and wild-life. The nearest boulangerie, bar and auberge restaurant are only 2 kms away in the medieval village of Bazoges-en-Pareds. Nearby there is a beautiful leisure lake for boating, picnics, fishing, walks and swimming in summer. Less than 15 minutes drive is a fabulous open-air heated swimming pool. Also in the area there are theme parks, a zoo, chateaux, wine-tasting, horse-riding, golf, and many historic villages and towns, many with markets. 1 hours drive to the magnificent Atlantic coast and the interesting port of La Rochelle. Visit the famous award-winning theme parks of Puy de Fou and Futuroscope or take a boat trip on the Marais Poitevin.
