Vacation Rental Description
This stone built longere was recently renovated and provides very roomy accommodation. On the edge of the farming hamlet it is normally quiet and a good get away from busy lives. Owners live nearby and can offer help and advice on places to visit etc. The nearest town is 5 kms and offers 2 supermarkets, banks, hairdressers etc plus a good selection of restaurants. Bedding is supplied with towels but not pool towels. The pool is child friendly in that there are roman steps down and deep end is only 1.6 metres. Heated by solar means it is normally available from May to September. Plenty of shady areas to sit and enjoy the garden without roasting.
Owners offer the chance to eat in with a menu giving a good choice of meals.
The nearest coast and beach is about 1 hours drive through very pretty country. This area is on the edge of the Vilaine river which runs from North to south of France just here and is a magnificent river with some very charming ports and towns along its banks.
The Loire Atlantique is on the edge of Brittany and still claims its Breton heritage. Nantes was the capital of Brittany and is where Anne of Brittany had her castle (open to visitors). The motorways in this region are toll free thanks to Duchesse Anne.
Channel ports are approximately 3 hours drive from here - Roscoff, Cherbourg, Le Havre, and Caen. Calais is probably about 6.5-7 hours without hold ups during the summer at toll booths.
Rennes and Nantes have airports that are fed by Flybe etc from the UK.
We can offer guests a discount of approx 15 - 20% when using Brittany Ferries for their crossings.
Not only are the summer months great for the hot weather but the spring and autumn are longer and warmer than the UK. Autumn is generally a lovely time of year, the trees with their leaves changing to all the orange hues of season and mists forming over the country to clear to sun.
The house offers central heating and a wood burner for the off season times.
The kitchen is well provided with equipment to make like easy. A gas barbeque is provided for outdoor cooking without the hassle.
