The gite is located in a beautiful part of the Tarn close to many sites of interest. Our web site www.gite-piquetalen.fr gives details together with lists of things to see and do in the area.
Albi, Gaillac, Toulouse and Carcassonne are all close by. Albi has the largest European collection of Toulouse Lautrec paintings on display in its museum and also has one of the most impressive cathedrals in France. Gaillac is the centre of the local wine area and is a good base from which to tour the local vineyards. Toulouse is a vibrant city which has kept its medieval centre. Great for shopping and museums and in particular home to Airbus (which can be visited) and a large space museum. Carcasonne is UNESCO World Heritage site. The old city has been completely restored and gives an impression of what a Roman city may have been like.
Lots of small interesting towns are nearby such as Lavaur, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Castres and Lautrec to name a few.
