Vacation Rental Description
El Palomar is a compact little house. Once a train waypoint, it has been charmingly restored and is now a private little love nest. The ground floor consists of a Charming country kitchen that opens out to a 'terrace' with stone walls with a table for dining 'al fresco' and a small table and chairs for just sitting and sipping drinks during the pleasant afternoons and evenings. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave and a clothes washer/dryer. It is completely equipped with dishes flatware and cooking utensils.It also has a small toilet for guests. 
 
From the kitchen, you go up to the main living area that has a sofa bed for two people, and comfortable chairs. 
Then up to the garret sleeping area - with a heavenly iron framed bed and a full bathroom. 
 
The house has electric heating and there is also an air conditioning unit in the bedroom for when the Summer nights get too warm. It is walking distance from the village of les Cabannes, where you can find restaurants, a baker, a "Tabac" and a weekly market. Cordes sur Ciel is 3 minutes away by car. There are supermarkets, pharmacies and banks very nearby.

    • It is near Cordes-sur-Ciel, Najac, Gaillac, Villefranche and Monesties within a short drive. You can taste and buy delicious local Gaillac wines at the many domains and chateaux. The spectacular Aveyron and Viaur gorges are nearby, together with the Gresigne Forest. 
     
    Within 5km is the picturesque medieval hilltop town of Cordes-sur-Ciel with its beautiful old buildings and narrow cobbled streets. Uphill are many restaurants and shops, together with museums, art galleries and a summer music festival. Downhill Cordes has a small but well-stocked supermarket, good butcher, superb patisserie, banks, pharmacy and a useful Saturday market. 
     
    Also nearby is Laguepie, overlooked by its ancient castle and on the confluence of the Aveyron and Viaur rivers; A very friendly french community providing all essential shops, a bank, pharmacy, restaurants, doctor, and a farmers' market on Thursdays and Sundays.
