Hugounenque gite is the west wing of our modern, architect-designed house. It is a wonderfully light, sunny apartment with it's own private balcony overlooking the 5 x 10 mt salt water swimming pool. The bedroom has comfortable twin beds which can be pushed together or seperate. The patio doors lead to a second, north-facing balcony with views across the valley. The en-suite bathroom has a double sink & bath / shower. There is a separate WC. The lounge comprises a kitchenette / diner at one end & relaxing area with sofa & English TV at the other end. Patio doors lead to the private, west-facing balcony overlooking the pool & magnificent sun sets. Set in 4 1/2 acres of land, bordered by magestic oak & ash trees, it has pleasant, tranquil views across the hills & valley. Ideal for bird watchers, ramblers, cyclists & nature lovers wanting to enjoy the beautiful countryside & character of this part of rural France.  
Located just outside the sleepy village of Verfeil sur Seye the gite has a very rural feel yet is just 6 minutes walk from the bakery which also sells basic foodstuffs & newspapers. The village, which comes alive during the music festival in August,also boasts a bar/restaurant (not open every day), a post office & a repair garage. Just 4 kms away is the interesting medieval village of Varen, set on the banks of the river Aveyron, with a restaurant, bar, Saturday market, chemist, bakery, grocers & hairdressers. 15 minutes drive away is the popular medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val with it's numerous restaurants, cinema (films often in English), canoe hire (for jaunts down the Aveyron River) & famous Sunday market. The gite makes an excellent base for visiting the many other interesting attractions in the area such as the bastide villages of Najac, Cordes, Penne & Bruniquel. Whether it be a cultural visit to Albi, famous for its cathedral & the artist Toulouse Latrec; wine-tasting at the vinyards around Gaillac; or sight-seeing further afield at Toulouse, there is sure to be something to interest everyone.

    There is a 9-hole golf course at Villefranche (31 kms away) & an 18-hole course at Albi (47 kms away)
