La Petite Grange is situated in an elevated position on the limestone "causse" above the pretty village of St Martin Labouval, only 4 kilometres from the Lot river and a short distance from the Célé Valley. The gite is the perfect place from which to explore the delights of the "Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy " and enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding countryside."La Petite Grange" is on a quiet lane from which after a short 5 minute walk arrives at a wonderful panoramic view of the Chateau of Ceneviere and the Lot river.Here on the causse we have the longest hours of sunshine and in the height of the summer the soft breezes are very welcome! We have more than 2 acres of well kept garden and a large pool..12 x 6 metres with sunbathing area.There is a lovely shaded area under a large oak tree where one can relax with a cold drink and a book if the sun gets too much.

The gite is built from local Quercy stone ,old oak beams and has a traditional terracotta tiled floor. It is on one level with a spacious covered terrace at the front which looks Southwards towards the Lot valley and distant wooded hills; Under the covered terrace there is a table and chairs for outside dining and through French windows you enter into the attractive lounge /dining room. This room has a high ceiling, feels spacious and has a large wood burning stove . There is a comfortable sofa ( which can double as a bed settee), 2 leather armchairs and coffee table.
"La Petite Grange" is available for hire all year round..the autumn being particularly lovely and Xmas with a log fire and Xmas tree and decorations provided within the price could be memorable!
Activities
In Cajarc, the nearest small town there is a small well stocked supermarket, several restaurants and bars, a tabac, boulangeries etc. and a beautiful " Plein D'eau " where one can sit on the edge of the river with an ice cold beer and watch people just "messing about on the river". The old railway station and bridge here featured in the film " Charlotte Gray"...and things haven't changed much since then!
If you follow the road in the opposite direction you will arrive at the historic town of Cahors( about 35 minutes drive ) Again following a superbly scenic route, you will pass the lovely village of St Cirq Lapopie perched high above the valley, well worth a visit for its medieval architecture, numerous restaurants, art galleries and its specialty gourmet shops selling everything from paté de foie gras, confit de canard, and everything it's possible to make from walnuts!
