The majestic Dordogne river cuts a swathe through the valley beneath the village, providing the perfect amenity for visitors who enjoy fishing, canoeing or swimming. There are also some awe inspiring lookout points, where visitors have an eagle-view of the river, the vast expanse of land and the mountains beyond. If you enjoy walking, there is no shortage of wonderful walks, immediately accessed from the property and also close-by.The medieval town of Martel, just four miles away, is home to a busy market, which takes place each Wednesday and Saturday. Here, in the environs of historic and architectural gems, visitors can chose from in-season vegetables and fruit, to local cheeses, foie Gras and of a course the delectable local 'Cahors' wine. There are also colourful craft, clothing, and jewellery stalls. The cobblestone, partially enclosed square is the venue for a weekly dance during the summer months. From early in the evening until early in the morning, locals and tourists alike are entertained by the sounds of a big band and practically everyone takes to the dance floor.
