Vacation Rental Description
Le Marronnier, our 16th-century stone farmhouse, faces south to the Célé valley in an area known as Place du Sol - place of the earth. This spacious house sleeps six people -with privacy assured. The Visitors’ Book confirms the enjoyment of previous guests who have stayed at Le Marronnier over the years.
Situated in the quiet village of Espédaillac, Le Marronnier is in a quiet, rural location opposite a vineyard. Only the occasional tractor and car use the lane outside the house. For the necessities in life, however, shops and banks are only a 20-minute drive away. In Min and Bob’s absence, English friends greet guests and look after the house.
Le Marronnier is the perfect place for relaxing, drinking in the atmosphere of rural France and watching village life unfold to the accompaniment of birdsong. A short walk away is the Auberge Beauville which serves delicious meals, including all the local delicacies. The village church clock even tells you when it’s time for apéritifs!
Le Marronnier was built in the 16th century using limestone from the causse and the surrounding area. The thick stone walls guarantee that the farmhouse is cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. The house accommodates six people in three lovely bedrooms, and all the beds have very comfy mattresses. The showers are strong and piping hot and, during the winter, all the rooms are heated - essential prerequisites for a perfect holiday!
The thing that draws you to Le Marronnier is the chestnut tree in front of the farmhouse - it bends away from the building, so sheltering it from the weather. The view over the surrounding countryside from the front of the house is simply stunning. The pool and terrace are just a few steps away from the front door through a little gate in a dry-stone wall in the grounds.
