3 Bedroom Cottage in Lannemezan

Maison Verdier is a little detached stone cottage set in the beautiful hilltop village of Avezac-Prat-Lahitte in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. The cottage is only 5 minutes from La Barthe De Neste and Capvern which both have lovely shops, markets, bars and restaurants. It's the perfect base for an active holiday skiing, hill-walking or cycling. Horseriding, golfing and watersports are all close-by... and markets are all around, with delicious local foods to try. Maison Verdier is a lovely sunny private retreat, great for relaxing with a book on the terrace and taking in the views.

Outdoor activities in the Pyrenees are exceptional. Road Cycling is world-renowned with many famous hill climbs in The Tour De France nearby including the Col de Tourmalet and the Col de Peyrasourde / Col D'Aspin. Mountain Biking is well catered for with uplift at many of the ski resorts and there are many well marked paths. Hillwalking is outstanding with many marked routes and high peaks. There are many areas of natural beauty, interesting historical areas and beautiful towns and villages to explore. Archeological sites of Montmaurin and Saint Bertrand de Comminges Art Earthenware factories of Martres Tolosane Traditionals markets in La Barthe de Neste, Capvern, Lannemezan.

The cottage provides a flexible base for your holiday. It's perfect for a family or group of friends. The Ground floor has an open dining kitchen, a living room, shower room and triple bedroom. The dining kitchen has glass double doors leading to a slate terraced area with beautiful views. The south-east facing terrace is equipped with garden furniture and barbeque. The living room is tastefully furnished and has a cosy log fire. There are books, games and children's toys, music and tv with dvd player. It has a double sofa bed which can be used if needed. The triple bedroom has a double bed and single day bed which is perfect for couples, young families or two adults sharing. The cottage also has two mezzanine bedrooms (one accessed by a steep stair, the other by a ladder) which both have twin single beds.
July and August bookings are Saturday to Saturday.

A non refundable deposit of 25% is payable on booking.

Full payment is required six weeks prior to your arrival date by either bank transfer or cheque.

A deposit of £100 to cover loss or damage is payable with the final payment but will be refunded within 10 days of your departure.

Avezac Prat Lahitte is a pretty, quiet and hilly village, with lots of very loved houses and gardens, flowers everywhere and animals grazing lazily. There are beautiful views of the Pyrénées from the garden and there’s a lovely old fort to wander up to for a picnic. It’s a friendly place, and in Spring and Summer many fêtes are held, involving music dancing and long meals. There’s a bread delivery van which passes through the village on a Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sat morning, and there’s a little bar in the middle of the village. You walk into what looks like a private front garden off the village square -you know it’s the bar because there’s a sign outside saying ‘Bar Tabac’. They’re open with tables outside in afternoons / evenings in the summer. We have a selection of books and games for indoor and out. The garden has a terrace with barbecue, table and 6 chairs, parasol and two deck chairs.

Avezac's nearest neighbouring villlage is La Barthe De Neste:
It's a bustling village with a brand new tourist information centre where you can find information on the whole region. The village also has a number of small shops, a bakery, bar, cafe, pharmacy, restaurant, hairdressers and a fantastic artisan chocolatery. There is an excellent sports centre with gymnasium and superb tennis facilities, including both indoors and outdoor clay courts. La Barthe De Neste also has a very popular local market every Sunday.
