Vacation Rental Description
Les Ruisseaux is situated in in the heart of the Pyrenees, close to the town of Cauterets, well known for its Thermal Spa and its winter ski station. 15 minutues further away is the start of the Pyrenees National Park with numerous walks and treks.

The house was built in the early 1900s, and retains much of the character of its early years. The old tram line between Lourdes and Cauterets ran right past the house and is now a path for walkers and cyclists.

There are five comfortable and spacious bedrooms, all with private wc and shower. The rooms are named after the surrounding mountain peaks. Two rooms are ideal for families with double and single beds.

Downstairs, the guest accommodation comprises a comfortable sitting room with satellite television, a large dining room where breakfast and evening meal are served, there are also armchairs around a cosy wood burning stove with guide books, maps of the area, novels in French and English and board games for your enjoyment. Doors lead out to the terrace where we sometimes have dinner in the summer.

There is also heated room available in the cellar for storage of ski equipment, cycles and walking gear. Two mountain bikes are available for you to borrow.

An three course evening meal with wine included is available on booking. We eat in the traditional fashion, all together around the large table in the dining room where you can discuss your activities and plans for the following day.

In summer, visit the Pyrenees National Park just 15km away with numberous walks and hikes to suit all levels, take the 'voie verte' from in front of the house to Cauterets, or even to Lourdes on foot or cycle.
Hiking, trecking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, paragliding, and horse riding are all close by.

The town of Cauterets wih its spa and ski station is just 7 km away.

Four other ski stations are also within easy reach.

The Pyrenees Animal Park - see marmottes, isards, wolves and bears.
Le Donjon des Aigles - see a fantastic show of birds of prey.
