Vacation Rental Description
Cosy and quaint, La Petite Maison provides a delightful home away from home. The pretty cottage is elegantly decorated in keeping with the old building, which boasts exposed beams and stone walls- with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.
The ground floor is home to a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge, and comfortable seating. The double bedroom offers plenty of storage space, whilst the modern bathroom comes complete with a large and luxurious shower and heated towel rack. The cottage stays snug with the beautiful wood-burner, which warms the whole house, and casts an amber glow across the kitchen.
The rustic wooden staircase (hand-made by Phil from an old tree) leads up to a spacious sitting room with a sloping ceiling. The first floor provides comfortable space to unwind after a day exploring the exciting and interesting local area, with chaise longue, sofa, television and DVD player. The ample room opens onto a charming balcony, which overlooks one of the village streams. Towels and linen are provided, alongside washing machine facilities and secure parking. Unfortunately, the cottage is unsuitable for young children due to the open staircase, and smoking is not permitted in the property.
La Petite Maison offers a warm and cosy spot in the winter months, and a comfortable, relaxing stay in summer - with a private patio for alfresco dining. The attractive building is pleasantly decorated with window boxes and wooden shutters, and looks onto the pretty garden and rural village. La Petite Maison sleeps two people, and is available on a self-catering basis.
La Petite Maison is available January to December, the price for a weeks stay during 2010/2011 is £250 (285€).

Activities
Just a 15-minute drive away, discover the hill-top castle, church or cave at Lourdes, where Bernadette was said to have been visited by Mary, where holy water flows from the magnificent building's taps. Nearby Pau houses the spectacular chateaux, formerly used by Napoleon as a holiday retreat, and is also home to the famous Pau Circuit, which hosts the annual Grand Prix de Pau.
For the adrenaline junkies, the Gascony district offers extreme sports such as white water kayaking, canyoning, paragliding and fantastic skiing, and the wonderfully twisted roads (which reveal a beautiful view round every corner!) are perfect for keen cyclists and bikers. Many of the local mountain roads are included on le Tour de France route, and the nearby ski resorts are perfect for all levels.
The fast and direct roads make it easy to travel slightly further, so guests can also enjoy the surfing and sunbathing at beach-side Biarritz, or even hop over the border to Spain for a spot of sangria!
