Lovely recently refurbished chalet with fantastic views of the mountains very close to the Tourmalet ski area (2.5 km to ski lifts). Barèges village is 0.5 km with a wide range of restaurants and bars, as well as a thermal spa originally built in Napoleonic times which has undergone a total refurbishment in the last year to provide a wide range of treatments and swimming.
The property is suitable for either summer or winter rental and is perfect for cyclists and walkers. The Tour de France goes right past the front door on the way to the famous Col du Tourmalet section of the race. The GR10 walking route goes through the middle of Barèges and there is easy access to spectacular walking.
The kitchen was completely refitted last year, and has a large range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The sitting room has an open fire with relaxed seating areas. There is a television with DVD player and a CD player and radio. The dining room will seat 20 people, and is easily accessed from the kitchen by a large connecting hatch. The chalet is fully heated, with secure space for skis, bikes etc.
The large terrace at the front of the property is ideal for eating outside.
The seven bedrooms are located on the top floor and the lower floor; there are 2 bedrooms with double beds, 2 with a double and a single bed, one with twin beds and one with 4 single beds. There is also one room with 2 sets of bunk beds. There are 2 bathrooms with bath and shower and 2 separate toilets. There is a washing machine plus indoor drying area.
The property has parking for up to 4 cars, and is approximately 150m from the start of the free bus service to the ski lifts in the winter.
The chalet is serviced by a concierge who will on arrangement clean the chalet upon departure. This is arranged directly with her. Linen and towel hire can be arranged if required.
Lourdes is the largest city, approximately 37km away; there is a rail service from Paris.
The town of Luz St Saveur approx 5 km away has a large supermarket, bars, restaurants, casino, disco and ten pin bowling.
