A beautiful home in an idyllic rural setting for a tranquil holiday in the South West of France. Situated in the heart of the Gers in a small hamlet within sight of Lavardens Chateau and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The house features a heated swimming pool built into the walls of the old wine cave providing privacy and a sun trap, next to our original pigonnier (tower). The gardens encompass a hectare surrounded by fields and woods with stunning views across the Gers.

The main house is very spacious - each room is approx. 5 x 5 meters and restored with tradition and tranquility in mind. The stone staircase is a work of art in itself, as is the trompe l'oeil floor in the second sitting room. Two bedrooms are ensuite with a main bathroom upstairs and an additional shower on the ground floor. Three bedrooms have very large double beds and one has twin beds. Each room is large enough for an extra bed (or two) if required. Two of the rooms have a balcony looking towards the Chateau. The kitchen is fully equpped, with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, two ovens, large fridge freezer, beautiful 3 metre oak table and open fireplace. We have had many compliments on how well appointed the house is.

The dining room / library features an oak dining table and many books to suit every literary taste. The first sitting room has two sofas and a huge open fireplace while the second sitting room has a large television with satellite and dvd/video. There are over 1000 videos and dvd's which you are welcome to use.

The gardens are very peaceful and hammocks are provided for a relaxing lazy summer afternoon There are many garden games such as badminton, table tennis and petanque and quoits for the more active.

The property also has a beautifully restored gite on sight which could accommodate a further six to eight people if required. The impressive sitting room of the Gite is upstairs and is a 30 metre long room with exposed beams throughout. Downstairs are three bedrooms - one with a very large double bed, one with twin beds and one with single bed or bunk bed. the main bathroom is downstairs with a shower room on the first floor. the gite has its own private garden, seperate from the house.

The local cuisine specialities are duck, foie gras, and armagnac alongside all the local wines. Every day there is a market in one of the local towns where you can sample and buy the local produce, absorb the atmosphere and have an aperitif.

The house is our family holiday home so there are most items you would expect to find in your home - bread maker, espresso machine, food mixer, lots of books, dvd's / videos and games.

For the main house: Ist June to 31st August - £1900 per week. All other dates - £1000 per week. For the Gite: Ist June to 31st August - £900 per week All other dates £500 per week £200 non refundable deposit to secure booking.
