Vacation Rental Description
Set in the golden triangle of Armagnac country in Gascony, the village of Noulens nestles into the hillside between Eauze (8kms) and Condom (15kms). This sleepy village is surrounded by vineyards, fields of sunflowers and maize and has magnificent views to the Pyrenees. The barn attached to Le Presbytère was converted in 2004 into two beautiful self-contained holiday apartments, keeping some of the French charm but with all modern amenities. They are privately situated at the end of the owner's property, sleep a maximum of 6 and 4 and are surrounded by fruit trees, pine trees and a vineyard with the 10 x 5m salt-water swimming pool, which is alarmed, just a step away.
La Mouette and L'Hérisson each have a large bedroom and sitting area on the mezzanine floor with a west facing balcony - perfect for sunset drinks! La Mouette has a twin bedded bedroom on the ground floor with a shower room downstairs and bathroom upstairs. The sitting and dining areas are open plan with a well equipped kitchen and wood burning stoves. Both have an eating out and barbeque area looking out over the pine trees and vineyard. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the pool room for guest's use. All bed linen, bath towels and electricity is included in the rental cost, but please bring your own swimming towels. There is always some good French food and wine to welcome you but a more extensive shop can be done for you.
The two apartments may be rented separately or together for a larger group of friends or family. Meals (or a barbeque) can be prepared and cooked by arrangement.
L’Atelier, for bed and breakfast, is part of the main house with its own entrance looking out onto the garden and pool. The bedroom has a sitting/reading area and a luxury bathroom with roll top bath and a wet room with monsoon shower. Breakfast can either be taken in the sitting area or outside near the pool. Dinner by arrangement. Bed and Breakfast for two people: 70 euros per night.
This is rural France at its best! The Gers, where people live longer, is endowed with clear unpolluted skies, little traffic, friendly people, a temperate climate and a variety of fresh country produce found in the daily village markets. The area is renowned for its duck, foie gras and armagnac and during the summer there are many festivals such as Jazz at Marciac, Country and Western at Mirande, Tempo Latino at Vic-Fezensac, bullfighting and horse racing.
There is always something to see and do in the area from visiting medieval bastide villages (this is D'Artagnan country), beautiful landscapes, wine and armagnac tasting, collecting antiques, riding, walking and cycling to just lazing by the pool on a hot summer's afternoon with a glass of fresh local wine!

Fantastic area for discovering the real rural France. Lots of daily markets selling delicious local produce. Alot of vineyards for tasting and buying the local wines and armagnac. Plenty of festivals in the summer months from May to October. Jazz at Marciac, Tempo Latino in Vic-Fezensac, bull fighting, book and antique fairs. Walking in the Pyrenees (2 hours drive from here) and swimming and surfing on the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic. Climbing the biggest dunes in Europe at Pyla, just near Bordeaux (2 hours drive). Or just relaxing with a cool glass of wine by our salt water swimming pool.
