Vacation Rental Description
La Maison des Deux Arbres is an early 19th Century Grand L-Shaped farmhouse in the heart of the Marcillac and Gaillac wine regions of south west France located just outside the celebrated and picturesque Bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue. This idyllic independent property is situated in its’ own spectacular and unspoilt 11 acre estate with a private, well stocked lake (containing Carp, Perch and Tench) and a fruit orchard (including Figs, Peaches, Hazelnuts, Walnuts, various Plums and Mirabelle). It also boasts breath-taking panoramic views across the stunning Aveyron countryside whilst remaining within easy reach of all the amenities necessary to make your stay in the region as comfortable as possible.

The house comfortably sleeps eight in four large well appointed double bedrooms with master and en-suite bathroom facilities. Two of the bedrooms can be enhanced to become family rooms with the addition of single beds or cots and there is also a fifth double bedroom within the main living accommodation available for greater comfort.

The house is designed for large family gatherings with an impressive 50sq metre lounge with imported leather sofas, contemporary log burning fire, large flat screen TV, DVD player and Wii games console ideal for those lazy afternoons or an evening entertaining any time of the year. The formal dining room also enjoys its own contemporary log burning fire and comfortable seating for 10 with additional seating and space for up to 14 people allowing you the benefit of eating in style the endless seasonal produce the region has to offer.

From the dining room through the original Souillade archway there is a well equipped professional kitchen including two large ovens, 5 ring multi function halogen hob, American fridge with ice and water dispenser, dishwasher, washing machine and a variety of labour-saving devices (juicer, coffee machine, ice-cream maker and blender) making cooking, dining and living in La Maison des Deux Arbres not only a joy but easier, especially for the chef, than you could imagine.

You are also welcome to pick and collect any of the fruit and nuts in season during your visit and search through the well-stocked cookery library at the house for ways to use the produce or simply take the produce home as a memory and extension of your stay at La Maison de Deux Arbres with our compliments.

There is a selection of games including Boules, board games, Wii console with wide selection of games and full size outdoor table tennis set. Aveyron is home to ten of the listed "most beautiful villages of France". These are Saint Eulalie d'Olt, Saint Come d'Olt, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Estaing, Conques, Brousse-le-Chateau, Belcastel, Najac, La Couvertoirade and Peyre. This is the highest number for any single department!

As well as ten most beautiful villages Aveyron has 6 bastides, 5 Michelin-starred chefs, 4 wine producing regions, 3 famous cheeses (Roquefort, Laguiole and Bleu des Causses), 2 'Great Sites of the Midi Pyrenees' (Conques and the Millau Viaduct) and an airport (Rodez).

Our nearest town is Villefranche de Rouergue, which can be reached within a 10-15 minuet journey. A medieval Bastide, Villefranche was founded in 1252. It has a wide selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, along with several supermarkets and smaller 'artisan' shops for all your needs. There is also a weekly market in the wonderful market square

'Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday. The place is amazing and catered for our every desire. It is hard to see what can be added to have made our stay more comfortable, but the idea of the swimming pool is very welcoming. We had a great week here in 'Two Trees' and thank Paul and Daimen for making us feel at home, the wonderful welcome note and the call to make sure everything was okay - all very nice touches that I have never had in any other holiday home rental. And thanks for making sure we were fed and watered on our first day.
We loved the area, and had some amazing days out. We very much enjoyed market day in Villefranche and would highly recommend. Other visits we made that were well worth it were the lazy day in the near by Belcastel, so beautiful and for a small village such good choice of restaurants. Similarly Najac is well worth the visit, although make sure you get there before 5pm if you want to visit the castle. Rocamadour and the Gouffre de Padirac are another good day trip and worth the effort, as is the drive to see the Millau Viaduct and the town of Millau itself which is lovely, the small village of Peyre and the small hill town of Roquefort (where the cheese is made), all three can be done in a day, recommending lunch in one of the many eateries in Roquefort, especially if you like the cheese. And if you are having a day in Two Trees there are some great little walks to be had on the hillside. The table tennis and badminton were great during the day, and some fierce Wii competition and shuffleboarding to be had in the evenings. Plus the kitchen was well equiped for some great meals around that lovely dining room table.
Overall the seven of us had a great week, very comfortable and would like to thank our hosts. You have done an amazing bit of restoration on the place so far, keep up the good work for the upstairs and the rest of the plans, especially looking forward to the completion of the pool!
Regards Graham & Martin, Lee & Shana & Chester, Barrie and Roland.'

Hi Paul,

1st day back at work ......tough going !!

Had a great time, superb gite, well equiped and marvellous setting. Never been to that part of France before - stunning scenery and great wines.
We managed to find most activities we planned so everyone was happy, you certainly have bags of potential with that place with all the outbuildings/barns and land. Would be keen to see pictures when you have pool installed etc.

Cheers,
Nigel
