Vacation Rental Description
La Bergerie has three bedrooms: one magnificent principal bedroom with a king-sized double; a twin bedroom and a triple. There are three shower/bath rooms, two on the upper floor (one ensuite with the principal bedroom) and one downstairs.
As you walk in through the front door, you enter the large south-facing living area. Along with full electric convector heating, La Bergerie has a typically-French Godin wood-burning stove for the winter that provides an attractive feature in warmer seasons. The living room contains a large dining table, chairs, sofas and a TV/DVD player. At one end of this room is the open-plan kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, clothes washer, fridge/freezer, gas hob, microwave and eye-level electric oven/rotisserie.
To your left from the front door, an interior door leads to the third bedroom which contains 3 single beds and has a view on one side of the pool and on the other of the lane. Between the interior door and the door to this bedroom, there is a downstairs WC designed as a 'wet-room' - it has a shower built into the ceiling and is fully tiled in such a way that the whole room can, if desired, become a shower room.
Upstairs, to your left, with a view of the pool on one side and a view of the lane on the other, is the principal bedroom. Leading off this room is an ensuite bathroom, which contains a corner oval bath, WC, wash basin and large cupboard under the eaves, ideal for storing your suitcases (or for playing hide-and-seek!) At the top of the stairs and to the right, is a bedroom containing 2 single beds, with a view of the pool and of the Bergerie's private garden. Ahead of you at the top of the stairs is a shower room, with WC and wash basin.
From the living room, 2 sets of glass door-windows lead directly into the Bergerie's own private shaded garden and terrace, equipped with outside dining table, chairs, sun parasol and barbeque.

We live in the old province of Quercy-Rouergue, which has some of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in France. Quercy is typified by sweeping tracts of hardwood forest, criss-crossed with shady lanes, perfect for both cycling and walking and completely free of traffic.
To the west is Limogne (10km), famous for its truffles and the beautiful riverside town of Cahors (40 km). To the east is Villefranche de Rouergue (10km), a historic Bastide with a noted Thursday market.
East of Villefranche is the Rouergue, a land of stunning river valleys, granite cliffs and medieval castled towns such as Najac.
Sporting attractions include canoeing on the close-by rivers of the Lot, Aveyron and Cele, fishing, horse-riding, rock-climbing and potholing. Massar is ideal for cycling: there is a huge network of possibilities.
Eating out is a particular pleasure. From world-renowned Michel Bras at Laguiole to more modest auberges, our locality is a culinary delight.

Our area is wonderful at all times of year. In contrast to the southerly coastal region, we enjoy fully-changing seasons and a landscape that will be familiar to northern European eyes. As a bonus, beginner skiing is 90 mins drive away, with the surprisingly challenging resort of Le Lioran a mere 2 hours distant. For most of the year it is warm. Typical summer temperatures are in the 30s (C), with spring and autumn levels regularly exceeding 20 deg. Skies are usually clear and blue.
