Situated in the grounds of an auberge on the banks of the Arac River, Gites de l’Arac overlook a weir and are surrounded by the verdant landscape of a Pyrenean valley. The cottages offer a tranquil setting for any holidaymaker but are particularly suited to cyclists, hikers, skiers and fishermen.

If sightseeing is more your scene, 16kms away the market town of St. Girons offers a range of shops and restaurants while a visit to historic St. Lizier is like stepping back in time. But for those wishing to indulge in a more sedentary holiday, the gites are a perfect spot to put your feet up and watch the trout swim past in the river below - or even feed the ducks! With the option of a drink or evening meals at the auberge, everything is on hand for the perfect holiday.

The gites offer a range of accommodation, from the simplicity of studio-living to larger 2-bedroom rentals and all have amazing views over the river to the mountains beyond. Skiing: With the local resort of Guzet Neige only 30 minutes away and Ax-les-Thermes 1 hour, visitors are spoilt for choice. Guzet is the ideal place for beginners or families with its quiet pistes and tranquil setting whilst Ax offers the more adventurous a wider range of skiing. Cross country skiing is also available nearby. Even a daytrip to Andorra is possible.

Swimming: Nearest beach 2 hrs but open-air pools, mountain lakes and rivers are all available in the region for those wishing to cool off in the summer.
