Vacation Rental Description
The gîte is set in 4000m2 of terraced garden and natural woodland in a stunning location looking due south over the Salat valley and facing the main range of the Pyrenees, with Mont Rouch right in front and Mont Valier a bit to the right. The house has been built in the traditional style and the gîte occupies the first floor. Access via wide balcony, suitable for disabled. It offers comfortable accommodation with generous sized rooms all with views of the mountains or the woodlands. The lounge leads directly onto the balcony where a table is provided for outdoor dining. The swimming pool is located at the east side of the house, and guests are welcome (July onwards) to make use of it; (Children using the pool must be accompanied by an adult at all times). Le Bourdassou is within 100m of the Tour de Vallee du Garbet walking route. There are numerous excellent hikes in the area such as the Chemin de la Liberte from the Col de la Cor, the well-known walk to the Ars waterfall, and many mountain lakes such as the etangs of Garbet, Bleu, Aube and Guzet.
It is possible to hire the services of a British International Mountain Leader for all or part of your stay at a very special day rate of 100€, for any group size up to ten. He will help you enjoy the mountains safely to the full, and maybe do something more ambitious than you would otherwise have attempted. The local canoe club offers kayak hire and guided trips on the river Salat.

3 bedrooms, (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds). Two of the rooms have large mezzanines, so larger groups can be catered for by prior arrangement. Shower room and separate WC. Open plan lounge with large comfortable settees has patio doors leading to balcony, and incorporates a modern fitted corner kitchen with oven, hob, and fridge and dish washer. Activities

Deposit: a deposit of 20% is required to secure a booking. The balance is payable at least one calendar month before arrival. A breakages and damage deposit of 150€ is payable in cash on arrival. This will be refunded in full on leaving if there is no damage. This in no way hinders us from billing you for the balance of the cost of repairs or replacement if the cost is greater than 150€. The displayed prices include taxe sejour, water, gas and electricity. Bed linen and towels are provided. Payment methods: 1) preferred: bank transfer UK bank to our French bank account. Ask for account details when making booking. 2) bank transfer UK bank to our UK bank. Ask for account details when making booking. 3) UK cheque made out to C P Waugh. Your booking is not secured until the cheque is banked. Cancellation: if you cancel a confirmed booking you will forfeit your deposit.
