Vacation Rental Description
Large one bedroom apartment on the ground floor of 18th century farmhouse with its own private entrance. 5kms from Pamiers and 1 hour drive from either Toulouse or Carcassonne. The farmhouse is located on a nature reserve in a rural and peaceful location on 50 acres of fields and woods. The rental season is from 1st March - 20th December. In Spring and Autumn walking in the Pyrenees is wonderful. The apartment is ideal as for house-hunters, birdwatchers, photographers, artists or generally couples enjoying a romantic weekend, week or a few days away to go and explore the surrounding, towns, picturesque villages and visiting historical Cathare castles, medieval towns and the Pyrenees. Private entrance all with easy parking outside. Large double bedroom off hallway with kingsize double bed with ensuite shower room, WC & washbasin.
Separate kitchen living room with large sofa, kitchen table and chairs, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and double sink with drainer.
There is central heating in bedroom from the main house and 2 electric independent radiators in the kitchen/living room which guests are able to use whenever they wish to from October until the end of April. Electricity is charged during this period as guests have complete control on their own heating. The cost for the heating is about 1-7 Euros per day according to how much heat is required.
TV with British satellite, CD/radio/cassette player. Bedlinen, bath and swimming towels are provided within the rental price. Electricity & gas also included from May - September.
Outside sunny terrace with table and chairs with sun parasol. During the summer months, guests have the opportunity to use the new north facing verandah, for early evening drinks or just to keep in the shade. Various other tables and chairs scattered around the land which can be used by our guests.
There is a of full size snooker table in the barn which our guests are very welcome to use and large 12m x 6m swimming pool with sunloungers and parasols for our guests use. (Shared with owners).
The bedlinen, bath and swimming towels are included in the price of the rental.
Pets are negotiable from October to March, please ask on booking before arriving with a pet. Thank you.

Activities
Horse riding is available within a 10 minute drive and can be arranged by the proprietors of St Victor du Fau.
Tourist information on the area is provided for our guests, including full details of restaurants in the locality.
If you require white water rafting in the medium or high season, this has to be booked at least 2 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
Ski-ing, downhill & cross-country, snowboarding and raquettes (snow walking) is available all within an hour of the property at Ax-Bonascre, Les Cabannes & Les Monts D'Olmes (which are the biggest resorts in the area).

Travel Options
- Nearest Airport : Toulouse or Carcassonne at 60 kilometers distance;
- Nearest Train Station : Pamiers at 5 kilometers distance
- Nearest Town : Pamiers at 5 kilometers distance
- Travel Info: The Farmhouse can be reached by either Toulouse or Carcassonne airports which are about 1 hours drive. British Airways, Air France, Jet2.com, BMi Baby, Flybe, Air Lingus and Easyjet fly into Toulouse. Ryanair flies into Carcassonne from Ireland, Liverpool, Stansted etc. Both airports are about an hours drive. The airports of Beziers, Pau (Ryanair) are about 1.5-2 hrs, plus others - please see our personal website. Ferry port of St Malo is about 9.5 hours and Calais about 10 hours. There is a small airport nearby which has a landing strip to accommodate private Learjets.

30% rental deposit (non-refundable) on initial booking and 70% balance payable within 6 weeks of rental. Security deposit against damages and cleaning of £100 (refundable) required with 70% balance payment. A home from home experience in the heart of SW France
We moved to the Ariege department in SW France back in June 2001 and have been running a gite and B&B business since then. Before arriving in France we both worked in people related industries and have travelled extensively. We can relate well to people from all walks of life and wish to make our guests stay in all our accommodation a very happy and memorable one.
The Farmhouse is large and comfortable - the appearance can be disceptive as the house goes back a long way. The length of both the kitchen/breakfast room and sitting/dining room is 10 metres long and 5 metres wide. The furniture is of a high standard and the house has many original features.
L'Ecurie the one bedroom apartment is on the ground floor and therefore recommended for people who may have mobility problems - there aren't any stairs to climb. There are also many original features and although not as large as the Farmhouse is cozy and inviting even in the depths of winter.
We have a very good local knowledge of the area, restaurant information, tourist sites and a little bit of the history of the area.
We provide sumptious evening meals made from local produce and wine and are waiting to welcome our guests, who have in the past come from all over the world. This area is rich in Cathar history and is the "real" France. Don't just take our word for it, come and see it for yourself!
